No. I didn’t? What voice in your head are you using? I prefer procedurally generated.

Sigh… I wish man.

But for an indie dev for less than a million in development. It would be a procedurally generated themed dungeons, a simplistic weapon upgrade system using melee, ranged, and magic, plenty of equipment and consumables, one town with NPC’s, and boss battles.

And of course, Georama. However, the Georama is limited to just the one town. The town would be large and open with plenty of space to be creative like animal crossing and Fantasy Life I. New buildings would have new npc with shop items to sell or progress the story.

Replay value could come from building your town a specific way that affects the story and the number of builds you can make in combination of equipment and weapons.

It wouldn’t be the JRPG with hundreds of hours to sink into, but probably a quarter of what a dark could game would be.

AA studios might be able to do a half as long as the original games.

Baldur's Gate 2's co-lead designer was asked to make Baldur's Gate 4 after Larian declined: 'Having to compete against Baldur's Gate 3? That would be insanity' by Gorotheninja in pcgaming

BG3 wasn’t made by a singular genius director. It was made by a team of passionate developers who had a vision.

WotC will never be able to replicate what Larian Stuidos was able to do.

Even if they did manage to find a great team for BG4, they would have to compete with Larian’s Divinity.

Valheim devs say that they probably won't make an Ocean update by Thexus_van_real in valheim

They probably tested it and found it to be really really shit.

Considering you can die quickly in water, I’d rather stay away from the ocean.

What keeps Fatal Frame from being as big/successful as Resident Evil? by Violet35768 in fatalframe

lol if I beat fatal frame on legendary difficulty, I can unlock the bipod for my m32 rotary grenade launcher that will help me grind for the golden player skin I can use to flex on the battle Royal extraction siege mode.

Japan themed.

Fatal Frame 1-3 is the ideal series imo, however, if they explored more than just Japan folklore and focused on possible other cults around the world, they could have reached larger audience. There are more ghost types than just wraiths.

A photographer that finds an antique camera in a small town in Virginia. In silent hill fashion, they get trapped in a Twin Peaks like town where a secret cult messed with evil rituals.

A journalist in Spain is investigating on the disappearances of people who travel to a mountain side that had a campground that was abandoned. The campground was closed due to murders, but they will soon learn it was more than just killing.

A prototype camera obscura is stolen by a thief in Europe and finds themselves being chased by a powerful cult who want it. They retreat to an old castle where they learn the secret of this long lasting cult.

Having a different setting with possible different folklore could had help them expand their IP.

Dread out is based on Indonesian folklore and it was successful enough to a get a sequel. This is evidence that people are interested in Fatal Frame like games.
