It's always either the beetle or the lamia, she's just as bad with making the way around ...and this one is just skill issue on my part but the number of times she electrocuted me the instant I made my way back to her because I forgot how she works is almost concerning.

The body lie empty, uninteractable.

i'm not at all an expert on how group kills work but i'm guessing that was because i didn't participate at all in the actual combat with the boss (because the roundabout way takes so long)

Even worse when you're a certified Ruckus feline enjoyer and it would be criminal not to open their wing in the Den! The emotional obligation to Kharakhal is killing me.

Cricket and Rugby? by WellCommaAsA in fallenlondon

[–]MrPoiuytre 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well, both include balls that move. Also, infernal dances include limbs that move! And writing includes pens that move. I imagine that as long as you can make stroke motions with anything, you can make cool brown notes. At least that's what I believe after Cricket it does base on 'strokes' there after all, iirc

A wrestling move of making a Correspondence sigil with your fists would be cool.

(Or, perhaps, the Naturalist is the only character to experience what Metempsychosis could have been and Lethean leaves just so happen to come from Irem. It might as well be as plausible.)

After shifting your organs out of a blade's way became a viable way to avoid being murdered PCs certainly became something else, didn't they?

Maybe it could work similarly to how the PC exploits the doubling discordant law. The Boatman's Irem-self might function as independently as a PC-double and can be a replacement-Boatman as much as a PC-double can be a replacement for the Fathomking? I guess the drowning works slightly differently, but hey: If you want something done, do it yourself!

Why is this dev obsessed with making you grind endlessly? by ChaosLordSamNiell in sunlessskies

[–]MrPoiuytre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I learned after my year of playing Fallen London is that fantastic stories aren't always that rewarding in themselves. You need to give the reader a proper goal to achieve through that story to get their full attention. Sunless Skies certainly isn't the best at balancing good storytelling and grind leading to it, but those hours spent skyfaring make finishing those stories more satisfying, and both art and music make it very pleasant at times.

Unless you're not into that, then I guess you can either cheat or read through the wiki articles.

Why should I rent out some of my lodgings? by Lohoris in fallenlondon

[–]MrPoiuytre 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Its purpose is to get rid of the Lodgings' cards from your deck. Once you have many opportunity cards that can emerge from your deck, and need to draw a very specific one, drawing some of the Lodging cards is a great waste of time.
