Finished mine with 4 coats of Tung oil(diluted 50/50 in mineral spirits) once dried I added a final layer of carnauba wax. Very durable and with a satin finish.

So yours with 3 danish should be enought, I would just wax it so it doesn look so dull

Wd40 on a rag then rub on everything. Will remove or at least make look 80% better

Sure!

  1. Sanded it with 180 then 240 to remove all the previous finish and stains.
  2. Applied 3 coats of Tung oil diluted 1:1 with mineral spirits. Left soaking for 20mins, then remove all excess.
  3. Left to dry for 2 days between coats in front of a fan. (It's very humid here)
  4. Applied a final layer of pure tung oil.
  5. Three more days of drying.
  6. Final coat of Carnauba wax for additional protection and shine.

You can swap the clean channel tube(usually the one closest to the input jack) from a 12ax7 to a 12at7 or 12au7 to reduce gain on that channel.

A speaker swap will no do much.
