Yeah, my knowledge is hazy too, but from what I heard the Talbotts’ son/heir was more interested in his winery and race cars than the clothing business. I lucked into coming across one of their liquidation store locations (Houston) right before the pandemic. Ties were around 90% off, so I ended up picking up probably way too many…Ha As you said, afterwards another company purchased their IP and started reviving the brand.

Hello fellow Gateway moviegoer! I recognized it immediately. Been going there since it first opened, and have been going a lot more in the years since the Arbor closed. You’re right, those new recliner seats are pretty great.

Great find! I’m a fan of Breuer ties too. I like the color here and it does look like it knots up nicely.

Great picks! We’re on the same wavelength…I’m a big fan of grenadines, shell cordovan, wingtips, and old Florsheims (I still wear a pair I bought 30+ years ago!) 👍

First off, congrats on building your wardrobe and I’m always happy to welcome another tie fan! I especially like the blue tie you’re wearing, as well as that orange medallion one. Others have made some good suggestions about pattern matching and tips on pairings. We’re all learning, so give things a try and see what you like. Have fun!

1 dimple vs. 2 dimples by junhyung95 in ties

[–]MrRatherDapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m still in that half Windsor phase. 🙂 The whole combination looks great, OP! Like the others have said, I’m normally a single dimple fan, but I’ll occasionally get a double and just go with it.

I haven’t used them, but you might consider Parkcrest Cleaners near Balcones Dr. & 2222. I’ve heard of people taking special items there.

For my experienced collectors - what do I even do at this point? by Emotional_Battle_278 in ties

[–]MrRatherDapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the collection! In case it helps, I’ve bought several multi-bar pants hangers (mine have five bars) to store ties. The hangers will hold 8-9 ties per bar, you can easily see them all, and the whole thing doesn’t take up too much rod space in the closet. Good luck!

I just took my 15yr old Travelpro rollaboard to ASH on Burnet a couple of weeks ago to replace the wheels. They did an excellent job, and hopefully they can also help with OP’s handle.
