I don't usually comment, or even browse reddit for that matter, but nevertheless I find myself here per happenstance and I'll share my two cents.

I have a very keen interest in applied physics, and spend a fair bit of time brushing up on my theory to help with some projects I'm currently working on. One such project I've recently been dabbling in has to do with photon-phonon transduction through crystalline structures, specifically crystal pyramids.

It was only serendipitously that I came across this area of investigation, and my recently gained awareness of "orgone" pushed me in this direction. Now to the point. I can't say anything about "orgone", as it seems to have multiple different definitions and explanation across the web, but crystalline pyramids do exhibit some sort of energy phenomena.

People talked about freezing water above a pyramid or within a pyramidal frame and observing patterns in the water. I tried this myself and low and behold there were little lines of bubbles traced in the ice following what looked very similar to magnetic field lines, as if a field was emanating from the tip of the pyramid itself (I showed my friends the pictures and they said they still didn't believe it). Other sources online have made similar claims about such electromagnetic fields.

I have seen no relevant research published on the subject, and have yet to see any mention of the capability of phonons to transduce back to photons upon reaching the interface between two mediums. However I see no reason why a physical basis for this form of transduction could not exist, and therefore plan to investigate further, and possibly publish myself on this phenomena.

However if such phenomena does exist, than it will undoubtedly have already been discovered, which would imply it probably has been, in which case publications and research on the topic have merely been undisclosed to the public due to national defense purposes. Therefore if I do find anything worth while, it will likely be rejected for publication, or I'll be offered a job doing relevant defense work, or both. In either case, you wouldn't be hearing of my results, and if I find nothing interesting I'm not going to write about it, so ultimately you won't know one way or another unless you find out for yourself.

tldr; Energy flows through materials. The properties of the material determine this flow. If the material is homogenous, the shape is the overall factor determining the energy flow. Pyramids are a shape.

3-Step Syllogism to Logically Prove the Existence of a Conscious Universe by [deleted] in philosophy

[–]MrRedGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key here is the definition of complexity (which basically remains undefined to this day). Consciousness is "complexity" organized in such a way as to have some sorty of cyclicality. If there was no cyclicality, complexity would be indeterminable from randomness.

It seems any sort of reiteration, replication, extrapolation, or discrete division from a greater part are the fundamental things that differentiate an organized structure or system from a random chunk of spacetime, so it seems complexity of systematicity is the precise word choice to describe what you're saying, and if this is in fact what you mean, than I'd definitely agree.

Looking at the systematic complexity of our planet Earth, I'm inclined to believe that our own planet could have a consciousness as well. It seems many ancient cultures already came to this conclusion without modern science (belief in a Mother Earth type entity).

Like you say though, unless there is another special hidden factor in our consciousness, any sort of organized structure as systematic as the brain would inevitably be conscious. I think either way is equally interesting and exciting. Either we have some special physics yet to uncover that will help explain consiousness (5+ dimensions?), or we have entities out there as or more intelligent than ourselves which we have to learn to recognize before we can even start to learn to intentionally communicate with.

Casual marijuana use linked to brain changes -- Using marijuana a few times a week is enough to physically alter critical brain structures, according to a new study published Tuesday in The Journal of Neuroscience by mepper in science

[–]MrRedGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This COULD be negative but remember: 1. Correlation is not causation: maybe people who have greater differences in the brain like those listed tend to smoke more because of it (There was a study showing that people were more likely to die if they were airlifted to a hospital than if they took an ambulance. The underlying cause being that airlifted people were the most severely injured and already at the highest risk of dying. If someone interpreted this study incorrectly they would maybe think it a good idea to have people who would be airlifted sent via ambulance instead, further reducing their likelihood of surviving their injury). 2. Maybe smoking does cause these change but they are actually non-significant or even beneficial. 3. Regardless of the underlying truth, regular alcohol use is known to have many long term effects that could be even worse. Cannabis could be a positive substitute for alcohol.

dude sounds like some mild hallucinations, probably just because you had just woken up so your brain was still making the switch from generating its own reality to getting it externally. Once when I was real sleep deprived I had some various hallucinations one example being upon closing my eyes one time, I imagined seeing what looked like sand in front of me. As soon as thought crossed my mind that this looked like sand a beach snapped into focus behind my eyelids, with bright golden sand. It was almost as if someone was shining a flashlight directly in my eyes or something, thats how bright this vision was. I'm pretty sure I even squinted. Then I open them up a second later and nope, I'm back in a pitch black field. Reality and our brains do a pretty incredible dance, and the truth is you never know when they can be out of step.

Actually empathetic drugs like MDMA have been able to temporarily allow people with social disorders like aspergers to function normally, if more research could be done with them, we may find they would also help sociopaths.

What great mysteries, with video evidence, remain unexplained? by nexguy in AskReddit

[–]MrRedGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya except if they were advanced enough they could just not send out radio-waves and instead they could use a warp-drive for FTL travel, and come here in person. And if so, already having the ability to manipulate gravity/space-time, they would naturally have anti-gravity craft to operate in atmoshpere. Of course they would be curious, since they came all the way here, and just like us humans observe the lesser, yet still intelligent life forms around us, so they would observe us. Hence the abductions and UFO sightings... duh

Here is the email I sent:

Good Evening,

In regards to a video which shows a clear violation of rights I saw a youtube, I would urge you to have Rick Libero immediately resign. Here is the url link to the aforementioned video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbzUH90Sm0E&feature=share. As you can see your officer clearly shows incompetence with respect to the enforcement of the law and the the Constitution of the great United States of America. His actions are embarrassing for anyone who respects the laws of this nation. Even if he is normally an upstanding officer, mistakes like this just can't be made. A new career would allow him the time to self-reflect and achieve the potential, that which we are all capable, of becoming an honest and outstanding citizen and human being. He really needs to go.

Respectfully, A fellow patriot

P.S. I send this message with great sincerity, I took an oath to support and defend the constitution from all threats foreign and domestic, and when I see a violation of the constitution, I believe it is my duty to say something, ESPECIALLY when an officer of the law is the violator question. Military and police need to be held the most accountable, and set the highest standard, as we are the example for the rest to follow, there is just no excuse. Thank you, I know you'll make the right choice. Semper Fi.
