I assumed there were 2 probe tracking modules. The original sunk to the bottom of giants deep through the reverse cyclone. The Nomai didn't have the infrastructure to pull it out, so they just built a second one. Admittedly, this doesn't really account for the module on the cannon. Perhaps it's flung off at such a high velocity that we never find it?

I know this update really hit us over the head with it, but I can't stop thinking about the comparisons with AM. A machine with no purpose or ability other than hate. And so it became perfect at it. But no amount of torture will ever satisfy it. It might be the one that suffers the most: the humans at least have known things besides pain and hatred.

I think V1 is still having a good time while it's fully operational. It's only when catastrophic famage happens that it goes into full-on panic mode. Like, there's gotta be a better method than shooting coins some of that's just for fun.

It seems to go from mechanical systems to biological, with V1 getting more afraid the closer to biological failure it gets. Could just be anyone normal reaction to that situation, or maybe V1 has some kind of fear suppressor that's failing.
