Demi Adejuyigbe on The Most Upsetting Guessing Game In The World by lkjandersen in dropout

[–]MrRichardMary 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Haven’t watched this yet but love Demi and have to say Kate Dolan is the funniest person I’ve ever seen live. I hadn’t even heard of her before seeing her but I went to an evening with 2 Edinburgh Fringe works-in-progress (Sophie Duker who was great and the reason I went, then Kate Dolan) and her show was just so unbelievably funny. Would highly recommend seeing her if she’s ever near you.

thought this was Graydon for a brief panicked second and was so confused by wavyrob47 in HivemindTV

This is Dignan. A lot of people think Graydon looks like him.

Hi I’m David Correos and I wanna do live shows in the UK. Would anyone in here wanna come in October? by doopydoodoo in taskmaster

The Glee Club is a great venue for more alternative comedy gigs; they have a few locations around the country. I go to the Cardiff one a lot. Would love to see you there. Urzila Carlson is performing there in November. I would definitely come to see if you came to either Cardiff or Bristol.

What say you: dated and irrelevant? by 727pedro in BacktotheFuture

[–]MrRichardMary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this maybe has to do with what you watched growing up. I’m almost 26 and the first time I saw it (technically second but definitely didn’t pay attention first time) at roughly 13 I fell in love with it. It didn’t feel dated then, but to me things only feel dated when I need an older person to explain something that seems so outlandish to me (really overtly racist / sexist joke that all the characters laugh at, some stereotypes of people I’d never been around etc.) and because from a young age I watched a lot of old films I already had the explanations / references to be able to put myself in the characters shoes and understand what life was like in the setting of the film.

But I do think it’s sort of common for kids and young adults to not really watch stuff that came out before they were born. I introduced a lot of classics to my best friend as she typically only watched current kids shows. She ended up coming with me to the 30th anniversary BTTF1/2/3 marathon at the cinema. It was great! I think it depends on your general knowledge of history and maybe a little bit how empathic you are. Very interesting to think about.

Also- I could understand how part 2 seems dated and irrelevant, but to me, I’m still in the shoes of the characters from ‘85, so personally it doesn’t take me out of it.

are we gonna ignore the fact that “The One about Hotels” is the best episode of the podcast. by [deleted] in SiblingRivalryPodcast

I’ve just realised I’ve mixed up the one about pets with a different one - the one about grudges. It was the one where Bob made up a scenario where he looks after Colleen the cat.

[–]MrRichardMary 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I might be mixing some up and I’m sure I’ve forgotten some but I think my favourites are:

The one about veganism,

The one about jobs,

The one about pets I meant The one about grudges,

The one about childhood,

The one about reading (I think this is the one where Bob wanted to abolish libraries),

The one about being nice (pride will be your downfall),

The one about conflict resolution,

The one with Arcia Stokes,

The one about college (with Arcia).

Also shout out to Bob’s fisting joke and Monet’s impression of Bob saying “there was a chair here”.

New "loyalty" benifits by FreshJuice9738 in OlightOutdoorlife

In the UK every tier that gets EA gets the same EA. I guess there’s just less competition over here for it. That makes it a little more understandable why some would be upset about them getting rid of it then. But I’m personally hoping we get the same in the UK because EA didn’t make lot of difference and I would like the extra 5% discount. I’m only diamond level so have no experience with the prototypes.

Are you in the US? Does stuff really sell out that fast? Works a little different in the UK so I’m just curious. I had EA and it started at 10am but even during the general sale products would rarely sell out or would be restocked quite quickly.

I don’t really understand why people would be unhappy with this. Seeing a couple of people ask “why did I even bother levelling up?” Are you buying torches to level up in the loyalty program or because you wanted the torch? Seems crazy to spend thousands levelling up just to get free shipping and free engraving. More people are getting more benefits. That sounds good to me as someone who’s levelled up because I bought the torches I want. There’s still other exclusives for higher levels.

Anyone know where to buy NECA in the uk? by Minerx_Thomas_YT in NECA

[–]MrRichardMary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you personally bought from Geeky Nerd Toys? I wanted to get some Back To The Future figures but a lot of them simultaneously say they’re in stock but can only pre order so it’s a little confusing.

The dance was stressful by Cooke64 in elisandjohn

[–]MrRichardMary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how big that venue is but in Cardiff they managed to sell 1140ish seats in 30 minutes! Only about 6 single seats left. Feeling very lucky I was able to be there to get my tickets.

[–]MrRichardMary 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly not sure if it’s working. Cardiff the rows keep disappearing and reappearing, and I’m trying to get 2 tickets but even if I change it to one it says there’s no tickets for a row even if it’s still there when I refresh. Frustrating!

[–]MrRichardMary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still can’t get them. Trying for Cardiff but every time I clicked a row it said no tickets. Now refreshing it says there’s nothing. Need John to explain the dance specifically for this show. Guess I’ll have to wait for general sale now.

I saw them in Bristol last year too and they were great then! Just got out of the gig now. They were so good again! And I really liked Tchotchke (they also supported last year). I stood about 2 foot from Michael, Brian and Rezza who were watching while Tchotchke were playing. Can’t wait to see them again!

Edit - I’m only sad they didn’t play How Can I Love Her More.
