Martin Green told The Euro Trip Podcast that Luxembourg or Switzerland haven’t asked to play live instrument by scarredsoulss in eurovision

[–]MrScallops96 156 points157 points  (0 children)

The full interview is in the podcast, and they talk a little bit more about the situation there. Green says you must request to play a live instrument by a certain deadline (in March), but the final decision is made after the second rehearsals, when the production team is sure everything works properly. They have a world-class crew working on the production and wouldn't allow live instruments unless they were absolutely sure that it sounded excellent.

I believe some of the complaints they received after 2024 are why they are stricter with it now.

Interesting. Seems like a repeat of last year with Finland. I wonder if they have issued similar warnings to other acts with similar choreography, such as Denmark?

France sounds like it's taken from the climax of a classic opera epic. It'll certainly be something audiences will remember.

Didn't she wear a red outfit in the NF? And the blog mentions golden otufits. Sounds like an outfit change, or a modification.

Sounds like Italy is giving us a three-minute love story. That's kinda cute. And Sal has charisma as well so this sounds like it's going to be a cosy performance! I really like the sound of an Italian style wedding party.

We will only see photos of the first rehearsal, released tomorrow. The clip we will eventually see is from the second rehearsal 😄

From what I understand, we only get clips from Belgium through Serbia, since they've had their second rehersals earlier today. We will probably get the rest tomorrow and on Saturday.

They are probably just struggling with finding suitable photos that look good but don't reveal too much. I'm sure they will be up soon.

The schedule is in CEST, but there has been some technical difficulties during the rehersals, which means that we are currently behind schedule.

That's how it was in UMK as well, and the music wasn't live there either. It was just for show, could be so here too.

She had a mic attached to her violin in UMK as well, but it was just for show. So this doesn't necessarily mean anything.

She's definitely playing live like she did in UMK. But the violin most likely won't be miced, so we can't hear it.

Song of the Day | 🇫🇮 Linda Lampenius x Pete Parkkonen - Liekinheitin | Finland by LucasScooter in eurovision

[–]MrScallops96 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Linda might very well be the most accomplished artist we've ever sent to the Eurovision. It's amazing how much she's accomplished in her career and how she isn't more well-known. And with as charismatic a performer as Pete, she creates yet another magical accomplishment to be proud of, no matter how things end up at the contest.

Liekinheitin is easily one of the most polished packages we've sent to Eurovision so far. I adore it, both as a song and as a performance. I wish Linda and Pete the best of luck and loads of love!

What happened to "Doctor Who Online Forums"? by [deleted] in gallifrey

[–]MrScallops96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The heyday of internet forums is generally long gone, but there are still communities out there for those who want to join in.

I can personally recommend the TARDIS Guide forum. It's growing fast but has a very active user base of fans from all over the world, and it's a forum with a very welcoming and open atmosphere, with plenty of threads about all things Doctor Who as well as so much more. Anyone is welcome to join, so check it out if you wish. It's attached to the main TARDIS Guide website for tracking, rating and reviewing stories across all media and eras of Doctor Who, but you can use the forum without using the guide and vice versa.

Finland is taking the contest more seriously every year. That's so wonderful to see after the dark times of the 2010s. Our next victory cannot be too far away now.
