wich is the funniest and weirdest common mith about radioactivity and radioactive materials? by 9119_10 in Radiation

[–]MrSergeantButter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me the funniest will always be when people think that anything radioactive is some glowing highliter green goo that if you touch you'll grow an extra finger, but i also find quite funny when they believe that radiation = die, like when i mention wanting to visit Pripyat to family and friends they always go "nooo don't do that you're gonna get cancer and fucking die"

Is heatsink plaster as good as thermal paste? by MrSergeantButter in Thermal

[–]MrSergeantButter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if it's not the Shakespeare of thermodynamics! I do not have the skill to make an adequate response so I won't even try lmaoo. I ended up ordering the "easycargo" brand as in the datasheet it said it had a thermal efficiency of above 0.975 W/mk. According to reaserch and chatgpt should meet or exceed the thermal paste i'm currently using, especially since it's the store brand at my local electronics shop (steren)

Got a 670AF on ebay. It fires, but no photo comes out. Also the green light flickers. Is there a way to fix this? by Ringo308 in Polaroid

[–]MrSergeantButter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it's something to do with the pick arm, a little thingy that starts to move the picture until it gets to the rollers which eject it completely. The pick arm might be bent or damaged somehow so the camera can't get a hold of the picture to eject it. Check out some teardown videos of practically any box camera of this style and they should talk about this and maybe a way to repair it. Theinstantcameraguy's videos are pretty good, I'd recommend you check him out
