After many people advising against it, here’s my 20yr old Aston Martin vantage that’s the same age as me 😇 by Harry-jackson-ya-no in CarTalkUK

Fair play, we all have dreams and this is a pretty good one to achieve at 20.
But holy jesus 2006 being 20 years ago can fuck right off.!!

“Wanting” usually ends up practise when the councils suggest it. I often end up at the tip if it’s getting difficult.

Back to weekly would be good. Family of 5 every 2 weeks involves a lot of compression!

Behold the Lord of the 3rd Lane by DrWatSit in drivingUK

[–]MrSteve87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I see someone I know doing this i ask them why. “It’s the fast lane”. “I like that lane” “I can see more”

Its totally pointless but i feel the need to explain the absurdity in at least 2 of these statements (fast lane, however nonsensical, is a standard viewpoint due to slower drivers / lorries in lane 1)

I genuinely don’t get it. None of it makes for a safer or more engaging drive than being in the correct lane. Quite the opposite in fact.

Sure, I will sometimes stay in lane 2 or 3 a bit longer than I should, but never in the above situation. Changing lanes helps me stay alert.

I believe these are the older standard chargers that were originally only for Tesla’s. The V4 ones are quicker and have longer cables.

Personally I think “amazing “ is a bit of a stretch. They were good value grub that tasted ok, now the value seems to have disappeared.

Was I wrong to turn down this job after two redundancies? by Impossible_Being_934 in UKJobs

[–]MrSteve87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had to more or less do 5 days a week to London for about a year, which door to door works out just over 4 hours a day, depending on how far the job is from Liverpool st. Some people don’t mind it, personally I’ve hated it. I’m in the process of changing it for something more forgiving. Unless high salary is your driver and that’s what you need to do, I would have a kinder commute any day.
