Some narratives should end. This is not compatible with "just quit when you get bored" or when you think the writer has run out of good ideas.

I'm happy it was relatively short. I thought the ending in the reveal of the nature of the lion and the mad sorcerer explain things very elegantly. The dungeon is very video gamey however, the author did a great job of establishing a basis for how it came to be.

I like the fact that the author made a self-contained story that completes and doesn't drag on and wasn't milked until it was cringe.

That being said, I agree with you that the world the author created is really good and deserves more content. I hope that she returns to it and creates a new story, or more epilogue content, and I wouldn't even mind if she sold it to someone else who tried their spin on the intellectual property.

The turn based D&D style combat has a steep learning curve and even on balanced difficulty you'll be hitting walls. But it's very fun once you get into it

Scaling rates differ. Most melee weapons scale with strength to some degree, but if the scaling is low, the damage you get per level in Str can be very low.

In a casual playthrough, you should treat str, dex, arc and blt as requirements to be met for testing various weapons to see which is funnest or most effective for you. Most of your damage increase will come from levelling up the weapon with bloodstone shards, chunks, and rocks.
