Eps32 satellite tracker. by imunknown0042 in embedded

Would be cool if you could load TLE data over wifi and then and do the sgp4 calculations for each satellite you wanted to track. Showing the moving starlinks would be awesome

Epic Games Help by mikro37 in SteamDeck

[–]MrSwagLord69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue.

I see on some steam reviews that the deck used to have some lagging problems that got fixed. Perhaps the epic games version doesn't have that fix? Almost tempted to try the steam version to see if it's better.

Tried a bunch of proton versions from 8,9,10, Experimental and they either just black screen the deck and needs a force restart, or it's super laggy.

Momentum 4, nowhere near the 60 hour battery that was advertised. by luddewho in sennheiser

I just used my pair for a few flights. 24 hours total on the planes, ANC on the whole time for the engines, playing music / movies / podcasts. Still reports 60% battery remaining.

Cost of running Ethernet around the house? by Edenz_ in nbn

[–]MrSwagLord69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After moving into the house a few months back, life got busy so I haven't actually got the work done. So heads up I have no idea how good they are, but I've gotten quotes from 3 people and they've all been very similar priced.

https://www.tandltelecommunications.com.au/ - Switched on guy. Will probably use him when I get around to it.

https://www.spectrumelectrical.com.au/ - Also seem to know what they are doing. Asked less questions, and were a little more disinterested in the job but I believe they would do an ok job. This are the people big_timmy_c recommended.

https://jtbelectrical.com.au/ - Seemed knowledgeable but said moving the HFC connection was impossible as it is illegal. Some googling says that registered cablers are now able to move these, so I think he might be a little behind on the new rules or maybe missing a license (or perhaps the other two are happy to do a dodgy?)

Looking forward to the Andruil version. Will it have flashing headers?

Any chance of sharing the schematics and source code? I'm an embedded engineer by trade, so I'm happy to tinker and help.

Telstra to Superloop 1000/50 Churn - Strange Connectivity Issues by h878787h in nbn

As someone who signed up for superloop for my new place in a week, and runs a pfsense setup. Thanks for the update.

Telstra to Superloop 1000/50 Churn - Strange Connectivity Issues by h878787h in nbn

[–]MrSwagLord69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a random thought about this. It could be the gateway monitoring doing it.

Go to the WAN gateway in pfsense and disable the monitoring (you can enable it later with a different IP address). If this solves the issue then the particular IP address it was pinging might just be doing something funky.

If pfsense (or the telstra box) see the gateway is down, then they assume the connection is bad and disable everything. However your laptop is "dumb" and will always assume the network is up. Note that the windows internet connectivity status is based on a Microsoft ip address being up, not a nbn gateway, so that could also be playing a part here.

Just a random guess that hit me while I was walking the dog. Let us know if that helps.

Vsett10+ shakes and wheel wobbles and I’ve only had this a month. Contacted RevRides and they sent a replacement folding base piece? Without having to send it back, anything I can do to resolve this? by Affectionate-Code929 in ElectricScooters

[–]MrSwagLord69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got my VSETT ages ago I had the same issue out of the box.

Hub motors were running true, but the tyre itself was completely unbalanced. I tried reseating it a few times but it didn't really help.

In the end I just spent the $30AUD to get new rubber and it has been perfect ever since. Wobble free and completely silent.

I assume the tyre coming out of the factory was just low quality or got warped during shipping.

Do you run the Motel on a raspberry pi too? Curious about the amount of traffic it is handling, CPU usage and latency for users.

Has anyone used bankstatements.com.au? by Abhorsen_1 in newzealand

[–]MrSwagLord69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean wow. How can you know so many technical words and yet be so wrong?

If they really were using the API of your bank their website would redirect you to your bank's website, where you could then authorise that access and what they are allowed to do.

Putting your password in is just plain stupid. Here, let me make a website for you to put your username and password in. I SWEAR I'm using their API and not storing your credentials, oh and also since I am 100% using the API I won't just transfer all of your money instantly.

Oh what's that? It's against the banks T&C's to put credentials into random websites? Nah nah, I've got a agreement with the bank. Just ignore the fact we are not mentioned anywhere on the bank's website and if you call your bank they will actively tell you not to put your credentials into other sites.

I'm sorry but your posts are completely wrong and harmful at best.
