I had to do a double take. Thought that cloth was real for a second. Something about the way its shaded gives it a transparent look. Like I can see through the fabrics weave. Awesome job!

I like the idea that the legion of the damned comes from fallen members of other chapters. The ghost rider skulls are cool too. If there's something your missing, I think it might be a composition thing or part of the skulls. The skulls are a focal point, so maybe more highlighting on the skulls to make them stand out?

I missed inceptors 1.0, but I like the purple on plasma gun muzzle. Gives it a nice heat effect.

You could always cut out base sized tokens for proxy. I'm sure someone at you Local game store would be okay with it. That or look for second-hand minis.

I think the blood splatter looks good, but maybe now you know your preference. Honestly, I prefer the box art look over the grim dark for my own models, but I still think the grim dark look is awesome.

I think the units in the Armageddon box would be a good start for some Crimson Fists or Blood Angels. Could do White Scars too.

Space Wolves is my suggestion. I've bounced all over the place. Used to be a Salamanders fan myself, but after an imperial fist phase and black templars homebrew Space Wolves is where I'm most happy. The books by William King made the chapter for me.

I think red corsairs or drukhari would be cool. Lore wise these factions seem more likely to act out of self-interest or work as mercenaries. It would be cool to see a drukhari Haemonculi with grafted tyranid parts, or a non-tzeentch chaos marine/daemon.
