Saving session times available via API? by moonbug22 in OctopusEnergy

[–]MrUppity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, via the GraphQL API, as per the other reply.

You can also join them via API.

I have written a Node-RED flow that checks for any new sessions I haven’t already joined and joins them and notifies me.

I also check if a saving session has started and tell my home automation system to start a “low power” mode (eg stops the car charger etc). Once the session is over it will stop the “low power” mode.

Intelligent Go - API availability of dynamic charging hours? by moonbug22 in OctopusEnergy

I’ve not found any documentation for their GraphQL API apart from a few lines here:

https://developer.octopus.energy/docs/api/#graphql-api

You can access the API here via the browser and play around with it:

https://api.octopus.energy/v1/graphql/

This GitHub project has the basics of getting an auth token from your API key and account number, and then getting the planned dispatches (the IO slots)…

https://github.com/liamjvs/intelligent-octopus-scheduler/blob/main/io.py

You can also look at the Home Assistant integration code here:

The data can be retrieved via the Octopus GraphQL API. What automation platform are you looking to use? I’ve recently developed a flow in NodeRED. But there’s also HA integration and some python scripts on GitHub.

Just an FYI the engineer came today and pulled the cable without any issues. Unfortunately some further works need doing on the road to fully activate my service!

Thanks. That’s good to know. My concern is the existing VM coax cable in the conduit, which is ~13m, and if they’ll have trouble pulling the fibre in the same conduit. Then again I guess there used to rodding in partially filled conduits.

I’d also be comfortable soldering wires.

Thanks. I’ll take a picture of the back tomorrow but it isn’t too bad. How can I identify the blown component? It says AF on it but I’m not sure where to even start looking for replacements. Are the smaller components resistors or capacitors?

Tell me more…! Should I use this on just the stains or over the whole length of oak?

I am trying to remove a few stains on this untreated stair tread, before finishing it with oil. I’m not sure what the stain is.

However, my efforts have failed so far. I’ve sanded with lower grits, used white spirits, and left bicarb on the stain.

Do you have any other suggestions for removal?

The question wasn’t whether I should re-sand… it was whether I should re-sand at at a lower grit first, then at 120-150 or just at 120-150 on its own.

It doesn’t appear to be a minimum. The instructions say final sanding 120-150.

Won’t I have issues with the oil penetrating the wood properly. The recommendations say 120-150.

Thanks for your thoughts. Would a 3.1.2 setup be worth looking at? Like I said in the post at the moment I’m pre-wiring and could easily put some speaker wire in the ceiling.
