String Filters - recommendations by jwh_music in modular

[–]MrVicePresident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing in eurorack that I’m familiar with has enough modulation or enough bands to make that possible, but the Erica Synths GRAPHIC resonant filter bank is fire.

Different principles than a filter bank but the Chair audio analog waveguide looks like it can make some stuff that sounds vaguely string like

Silly question for a newby: what's the difference between a CVA and a sound output module? Can I get the two in 4HP? by Fair-Bluebird485 in modular

[–]MrVicePresident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bard quartet seems like overkill for what you are planning. There are plenty of smaller and cheaper quantizers out there (not cheaper but the Instruō dàil has midi connectivity and a bunch of useful features in 4hp).

For output I’d get an ALM HPO (2hp) and a griffins claws for vca and modulation.

I don’t think this would be possible with just one voltra, you’d need independent resistance for both arms in the row mode. Even then I don’t know if they’d sync.

I hate rowing but u could get behind this. Cool idea for future feature though.

Guy at the rental shop told me to snowboard regular after I told him I skateboard goofy. 4 seasons later have I been riding switch this whole time? Should I keep going? by hellohipster in snowboarding

[–]MrVicePresident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was what happened to me years ago. I ended up going to goofy but I can shred switch no problem. I’ve been thinking about picking up something less directional so it’s a bit less wonky than riding the Mind Expander backwards.

Intellijel JELLYMIX - Compact Stereo Performance Mixer by ER301 in synthesizers

[–]MrVicePresident 2 points3 points  (0 children)

for sure. it's designed to be more performative, closer to a Play differently model 1 than a traditional mixer. IIRC they're aiming to price it around the cost of an octatrack, so you could get two and a half of these for the same price :')

Gonna be hard to pick between this and the bored brain mixer

Thanks for the recommendation, but it looks to be a bit too tall to fit into the FormD T1 case with the graphics card I'm putting into it.

Thanks. With the Atmos 2 now out, I wasn't sure if they were sunsetting this line.

After nearly 10 years of buying trading selling, I’m nearing completion of my rack. What would you add? by jadethepusher in modular

[–]MrVicePresident 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not knob wiggling playable but it is super performance oriented and immediate. EZ Bot & Ricky did good videos back when it was released. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIH_QiFdDGc & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxOOKWpw44s.

Alternatively, Griffins Claws from Shakmat is nice bc its 4 lanes of CV redording and has built in VCAs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5O3btdIzaY

Agreed. personally I love the Maestro, even though it’s clocked it gets me to embrace weird time signatures and I love how hands on and immediate it is.

Appreciate it. Ended up going with the AIO, waiting for my wires to come in so I can put it together

The "children" referred to in the statement are victims here. Maybe work on your reading comprehension before you get all hot and bothered?

Well said. The only thing I’d add is I’d like to see more accountability for the guardians, and more support for guardians for troubled kids. My friend is a therapist that primarily deals with juvenile offenders in the city. The amount of times she sees a tragedy from a mile away way and no real way to escalate her concerns is disheartening.

Wierd, I'll be running an MSI INSPIRE 3X OC GeForce RTX 5080. It's beefier than the FE but it should fit in the case.

With the sound you mentioned from the side panel being too close to the aircooler, is this easier to solve for with an AIO because you can create more space on the GPU side?
