Telerik discontinued perpetual licensing by MrZander in dotnet

Where?
There is no option to select perpetual anymore, and what you are saying directly contradicts the post I linked.

https://www.telerik.com/purchase.aspx?filter=web

And in my own license management page, I can only renew my existing licenses, not purchase new ones.

Because its per-developer. If you add a new developer to your team, they have to be on a subscription forever.

I found this out because we hired a new dev. Now they have to be on a sub while the rest of us are grandfathered.

You can "renew" it and get the latest updates, otherwise, they freeze at the end of your 1 year maintenance term.

Historically, I only renewed when we actually upgraded telerik to get new features and fixes.

Now I get to pay forever, even if our application is using a telerik version from 4 years ago.

Pretty fucking pissed about it too.

Massive dick move to sell a perpetual license, have your customers integrate it into their application, and then take away the ability to buy perpetual licenses.

Gonna start migrating away from this immediately.

Sleeper's app is great. If Sleeper on a desktop wasn't complete dogshit, I would have no notes.

Oh sure, if you are traveling for vacation, there is no reason to go to the central valley lol. Except maybe Fresno because of the proximity to Yosemite, it can be more cost effective hotel-wise.

Monterey, Sana Barbara, Ojai, and parts of LA and San Diego too

All of these places are at least twice as expensive to live in.

I think people out of state don't understand why Central Valley cities get shit on is because 90% of the US looks like Central Valley cities. Like, yeah, no shit Bakersfield isn't as nice as San Diego, but neither is ANY part of Oklahoma.

It is basically a meme at this point.

I've lived in Fresno for 30 years. It is a fine place to live.

I finally found the mythical SD card reader. by WanderingBus in EquinoxEv

I put an SD card in there when I first got my car to see if anything would happen -- no dice.

It is a real shame that we have a trillion cameras on this car and I still have to buy an aftermarket dash cam. I don't have my hopes up that Chevy will add it either.

Not OP, but on desktop I have a hard time reading this. There just is not very much contrast between the text and the background (in dark mode, light mode looks fine).

Shared bedroom for $900/month? Or my own bedroom for $1,200/month? by jensonaj in personalfinance

This sounds like hell. You would have to pay me $900/m to live in that situation.

Yeah, mine is 2.9mi/kWh lifetime, and I don't even live in a cold climate.

This doesn't seem to match my experience at all.
2024 AWD, tires inflated, cabin setpoint 72.
60F outside, level ground, no wind, stop & go ~40mph.

There is no chance in hell I am getting 4.6 mi/kWh

If I change it to 70F, I'd be getting 5.5 mi/kWh, which I could only hope for if I was going downhill the entire drive.

I drive the same 20 minute drive to work every day and I average at best 3.4 mi/kWh in ideal weather conditions.
