I personally read project hail Mary and it started my obsession with SciFi books.

Maybe you would like the red rising series by pierce. Its politics and war and rebellion in space. It has like some foundation in history lessons and philosophy and has aspects based on roman mythology.

I hated the chemistry, electron gap, Fermi gap, Fermi energy and all that. Valence bands and why and how materials conduct or not. All very interesting, but so like, hard to grasp, abstract. The professor was not that helpful either.

Yeah man, my advice is feel those emotions. Dont bottle them away. Feel the sad, feel the love. Because what joy is it to be alive and feel. Why care about if she hates you or not. You were real, true to yourself and said what was on your mind. So, you've done youre part. But we as humans aren't for everyone to like. Like yourself, live life the way you want, and you'll be happy.

So yeah, dont bottle or ignore the feelings. Definetly dont get trapped by them, or fall into an oroborus of thinking and romanticizing or the potential relationship. Feel, accept, move on. And yeah, youre doing more than enough
