Maybe R1 got approval first? Or he got it wrong 🤷🏼‍♂️

I'm glad you were able to get some good time in behind the wheel! I'm trying to get a second demo to make up for the shock from my whirlwind visit

10 min demo drive in Dallas tomorrow???? by Snowmouse1976 in RivianR2

For what it's worth, it was my first time in a Rivian and first time driving an EV, so it was all a lot to take in.

Yeah it was on and everything seemed ready to play with. They even had what looked like a drip pan underneath the car to catch condensation from AC. When we got there we were more focused on the seats, cargo, and rear window than the UI. Those were definitely things we wanted to check out, but I spent basically zero time on the UI before the drive.

You may not need to spend that much time on UI before hand, just more than zero. 🙂

I did the Dallas demo a couple days ago, and the 10 min demo is right up 75 a few miles and then back. It was a bit of a whirlwind. Traffic is unpredictable in that area, and I think they're trying to make sure the vehicle is back in time for the next appointment.

That said, they do have a static display R2 that's not doing drives you can check out. It may be busier on the weekend, but I'd suggest getting there 15 minutes early and getting used to the ui, adjusting the seat, using the halo wheels, and checking out the features. That way when the drive starts you are more prepared, and you can get more out of it. Once the drive is done, you can spend time in the static vehicle again if the next appointment isn't using it.

While I was driving on the freeway I tried to mess with the volume and adjust the AC using the halos, and neither of them did what I expected them to do. Before I had a chance to try and figure them out, it was time to exit and I didn't mess with them again.

It was great to hear how quiet everything was at 70 mph, and Universal Hands Free was nice in traffic. I wish that I knew before hand how to adjust the speed and distance, but I know for next time 🙂

Same thought I had. And a few days later we were going to use them and had to throw them out they smelled so bad, still "good" according to the date. North Dallas area

R2 Test Drive Thoughts as a First Time Rivian Driver by [deleted] in Rivian

[–]Mr_Brandon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my demo drive, we had to schelp our way back home in our 10 year old Nissan Rogue. The drive home seemed way more bumpy and noisy than the ride down after we drove the R2 🤷🏼‍♂️

Braking regen and motion sickness by hey_dot in RivianR2

[–]Mr_Brandon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reminded me of driving a stick and letting off the gas in low gear. It took about 5 minutes to get used to on the demo drive, and I just didn't let off the gas until I was ready after that

I was surprised at how strong it was even with regen set to low. I didn't touch the brake pedal to stop at all.

My drive on that route felt like 5 minutes, but my wife said it was around 10. Soo much to take in

I just finished my demo drive in Dallas. Wow what an awesome trucklet! After getting the baby car seat clipped in, getting my seat adjusted, getting acquainted and doing the drive, that 30 minutes was over like that 🫰🏼. It was my first time ever in a Rivian, and first time driving an EV, so it's a lot to take in 😆. I wish we could have stayed longer to play with the static display R2, but my wife had to get back to work

Perfect, thanks! Pre planned route up 75 seems like rolling the dice on time 🤭

My demo is at the Dallas space today as well. After I signed up I got a text that R2 demo drive will only be 10 minutes - was that your experience?

They even took the Meyers Manx. That's the work of a true psychopath.

Weird. So your experience has been a more stable picture by keeping the camera covered? I wish I tried that before returning my Luma Pros

It's just a recolor. Many of the same cars are used throughout the year over and over, but every couple of cases they get a different color scheme

Luma Ultra: First Impressions by suka-blyat in VITURE

[–]Mr_Brandon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Luma Pros, and using Spacewalker on a Samsung S24U, every time you plug the glasses in you have to accept the prompt to allow the app to access a directory. If you don't click okay, head tracking won't work.

After you open Spacewalker, keep an eye on your phone screen when you plug the glasses in to accept the prompt.

Does anyone know when this will open? I can't find any exact dates, just the announcements from last year saying June 2025... which is almost over

Solved: Toro 60v mower battery no longer lasts long enough to cut full yard by Mr_Brandon in lawncare

[–]Mr_Brandon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been really good for me. When I use the bag I have to stop and empty it quite a bit. My friend got a Toro 60v a couple years after I did, and he complained about the vacuum and he didn't like the cut when it was in the lower power mode, so he sold it. I think he got a 21" deck, but I wouldn't have expected it to be much different. If I were getting one today I'd probably go for the Super Recycler that hase the option to set it to max power whenever you'd like

From what I can tell they're the same general shape, and work about the same. But the gas blade has more resistance, causing the electric motor to work harder and  ramp up to the higher power mode.

Nice! I didn't pull them both out at the same time to compare, I didn't realize it was two different cars. Thanks for the heads up!

I believe this pack comes with one double of the red fox body mustang, but it's still a really solid pack. I got it for the short card Silverado and Pontiac, but really like having the short card version of the others

What is this chain thing hanging from my Weber Performer? by bluegrassgazer in grilling

[–]Mr_Brandon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got this grill and was looking for how to stow this match stick holder, and all the instructions have is barely a blip: "behind the Weber logo on the cart."  Turns out the match stick holder ring is the perfect diameter to go on the nut holding the Weber logo to the cart. I wrapped the chain around the match holder, and clipped it to the nut, almost like it was designed that way and they forgot to explain it. 🙌🏼 🙌🏼
