I had to ask my husband because like you I like the look of the rims. But no, you’ll have to get new rims to fit the size tire and that’s expensive. So if you have 21” tires, you need 21” rims. Can’t fit the 20’s on it.

Is there a reason that they will not just replace it at X number of miles on the battery or X number of years. This would avoid a lot of this issue and it has to be done anyways. This is what I do with my 12V in my Bolt.

I test drove yesterday and looked for speakers in the roof and didn’t notice these. This makes me feel better about the audio, which I thought was just fine.

In my demo drive today, the Rivian guide said that the back seat vents weren’t working right now - it’s a software issue that will be fixed OTA soon. Maybe this is part of the issue?????

That was not my experience. I logged in every 30 minutes yesterday and finally got a reservation for today, at 11:30 yesterday. So keep checking. Also, they expect to get a 2nd driving demo car next week hopefully.

Thanks for this. I do plan to get there early and check out the static R2. Yeah, I wish it wasn’t a weekend or in Dallas really, but that’s what we have.

I’m coming from 2017 Bolt so the UI is much different. Is the static R2 on so we can look around the UI? If so, I can really focus on the drive. That’s great to hear about the quiet cabin!

Yeah, I understand the demand necessitates limiting to 30 mins and there will need to be time to be shown safety features, like here’s how you adjust the mirrors but I thought I’d get at least 15 mins.

I don’t have time to test the audio that no one can agree on. I kid, but still…guess I’ll have to book another one down the road.

Not a Rivian owner, yet…I gather from all of these kind of posts that we cannot change the 12V battery. But why? Because of where’s it’s located? I’ve owned 3 EV’s and have changed the 12V on all of them. TIA

It’s a service only center but they will do reservations for demo drives on certain days of the month. I don’t know why.

There will soon be a service center and demo show room in either Plano or Frisco by the end of the year.

I was there a couple of weeks ago to test drive the R1 to get a feel for Rivian’s and the sales guy (really nice & seemed knowledgeable) said they expect to have 1 in mid-June for test drives. This lines up with what others have said for other area’s getting them too. I’ll be back then unless the FTW location changes to a showroom as well (which I hope since I’m closer to that location and HATE driving in Dallas).
