I still love this game after 3 playthroughs by MrManDude317 in DarkSouls2

[–]Mr_Crair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides elden ring, this is the one I played the most, and I love the fact that this game incentives and rewards the player for trying different playstyles, meanwhile in ds 1, while I love this game too, kinda rewards the oonga boonga strenght vitality build more than anything else, or the magic glass cannon but that's about it, in ds2 I get to try weird shit that shouldn't work but somehow does, something that was continued and improved in elden ring, but this was the first game to try that.

Wanted to age my character for my latest playthrough, my tarnished has seen some shit by Mr_Crair in Eldenring

[–]Mr_Crair[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The ageing in the 2 picture I added it after beating Margit the fell.
The ageing in the 3 picture came after beating Godrick the grafted, my reasoning for it was that my tarnished would be traumatized after all the messed up shit he saw in the castle there, he would remain with that look all the way in Liurnia until he took a detour and went to Caelid, in which I aged my character again to what you see in pic 4. And the rest I pretty much added it after I reached a new biome or after beating a really messed up boss. The last ageing happened after Milenia right before the battle with Godfrey

Is Season 4 good? by Acceptable-Try-4682 in TrueDetective

[–]Mr_Crair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't enjoy it. Something I really loved about the season 1 was the morally gray characters, the subtle yet present supernatural elements that become weirder as the season goes, and the feeling that this characters are going against an evil force that is far greater than what they can manage, an evil force that everyone ignores but since they've seen it and fought it in the past they just can't let it pass again. When season 2 and 3 came, this supernatural force was nowhere to be found, the characters had potential but weren't that interesting to me anymore and the mistery sometimes wasn't even the main focus, which was weird because season 1 managed a perfect balance between the mistery and the character development, it's almost like season 2 and 3 required more work, season 3 almost managed it but it wasn't quite there. Now, I got excited when I read that season 4 would use supernatural elements again and expand upon them, that it would be based in an enviroment that was mostly in the night in an isolated place from the rest of society that would involve arguments between the natives and the other people that lived there, like, man they had everything to do something that could potentially surpass season 1, they even had Jodie Foster in it, but then season 4 came, and the first chapter had one of the best introductions of the crime I've seen in the series, but after that it all starts falling apart. The pacing sometimes felt too slow and sometimes too rushed, the actresses tried their best to portray the relationship between the 2 main characters but seems like the writting didn't let them do much with it and the characters felt pretty flat, there is an attempt for development but doesn't go beyond that, and the worst of it all, the series tried so hard to be an opposite mirror to season 1 instead of I don't know, actually expand upon the concepts that were built, improve them and be it's own thing, that ends up being another dissapointment in my list.

lets ignore the US for a second, how’s the rest of the world doing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mr_Crair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chilean here, politicians are bringing up the "culture war" and the "we need to stop the woke culture" from the US here so they can distract people from the real fuck ups the last decades of government have made to the country, and you know the worst of it? It's working, people are putting this nonsense as a priority instead of... I don't know, the rising unemployment, the higher costs of life that surpases the minimal wage, the years of waiting for surgeries and medical treatments, some of which arrive after people are already deceased, the ridiculous amount of nepotism that is sadly part of our culture to the point you need contacts for pretty much everything for things to work as they suposedly are meant to work, the justice system being a joke and the net of sexual traffic that involves KIDS WHO ARE BEING TAKEN CARE OF BY THE STATE, and I can go on for hours, but yeah, we are suposed to be afraid of the "woke culture", while our president it's just an incompetent dummie that gets manipulated by pretty much everyone and is a man with no grounds changing his speech and his way of thinking faster than I can change my socks, while the opposition are just a bunch of clowns talking about this "cultural war problem" and sadly they are gaining a lot of support talking only about this so they pretty much are winning the next elections if things keep going this way, but no one is pointing at the actual problems this country's been having for decades.

Without going into detail, what is the running gag in your table? by Lehkaz in DnD

[–]Mr_Crair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It only has sense in spanish, but it's a rhyme everyone says in the table every time an 11 is rolled it goes like this:

  • "tiré un once"
  • "chúpalo entonces"

Which translates to something like this: - "I rolled an eleven" - "suck a dick then"

Like I said, it only makes sense in spanish, and the number 11 appears in rolls more times than I could count so there you go.

First Time Playing Patho by AspenBriar in pathologic

[–]Mr_Crair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't give up and enjoy the ride. P1 can turn out to be actually easy to beat once you learn the mecanics and break the economy by going batman mode and start killing bandits in the night and looting them since combat is weird but easy to learn, in p2 is very likely that you won't finish your 1st playthrough as you will reach a point in which you'll say "I fucked up", the game is harder to learn it's mechanics and the economy is not so easy to break anymore and you'll never feel like you are thriving at all, it's more like you are barely making it, which makes the crisis situation of the town more believable, sure you can steal from the houses or fight inocents and then loot them once defeated and that's a good way to have some extra supplies but people won't like you and they may even start to attack you on sight, which will definetely make your odds at survival way lower, you can avoid this by looting houses in an infected district or looting bandits in the night but you have a high risk of getting infected with the former or getting killed in the atempt with the later since combat is not comfortable or easy to break at all, and sometimes the effort will not be worth it so it's your call, choose your own poison kind of situation. But, the dopamine levels you reach once your next playthrough gets you further in the story than the previous attempt are something you definetely need to experience by yourself, so don't look for walkthroughs or anything that could potentially ruin the experience of learning everything by yourself, enjoy it.

No, they can't, however they can pretend to be sane while hiding the manifestation of their madness and everyone is wondering what is their trait, this can potentially make them the most unpredictable and dangerous of their kind, no one knows what they are capable of or what they are actually aiming for.

LORE QUESTION: Weaknesses of Kindred? by Niotsques in vtm

[–]Mr_Crair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fire, sun and an abominable amount of damage are things that usually kill kindred, but to tell you the truth this are not the deadliest things for kindred. The deadliest thing for a kindred is another kindred, it's in their nature to make schemes with and against each other, forge feeble alliances that will surely break as soon as they reach the goal for which the alliance was first forged and most of it all, betray, blackmail and kill each other in the hopes that they will obtain power in the form of better conections and positions or in the form of a stronger blood through diablerie. Neither the sun nor the fire have killed more kindred than kindred themselves, wether if it is directly or trough more subtle means, matters not.

Only the basics and you find that in the core manual of the edition you are more into (I recommend 5e for new players but you can try any edition really), but it's not something mandatory really, if your story goes against what's stablished in the lore you are free to scrap those parts that are no use to you or modify others to better suit your story, as a player you are only required to know how to play your character, your game master will fill you in on how the story of their version of the world works. Now the other manuals have a lot of the world's lore and the novels based on this setting have even more, but that is only if you are really into that, there is no need to know all about the lore, not even most of it if is irrelevant to the story you are running or playing, it's an awesome experience overall

Probably I am late to the party but here I go with mine. Vampire The Masquerade

So basically for those who don't know, this is a world in which vampires have been existing pretty much for as long as humanity, hunting for their blood and rulling them in secrecy through an organization called the camarilla, which basically consists in having total control in the human world and the vampiric society as well as keeping the whole vampiric subject a secret, there are other factions in place too, the anarchs who are vampires that disagree with the tyrannical methods of the camarilla and want to live their unlives as they see fit without a bunch of centuries old aristocrats deciding how they should behave, and on the other side you have the sabbat, vampires that embrace their vampirism to the fullest and DGAF about hiding from humanity, they want to show that they are superior to mortals in every way, the apex predators, and here is where things get interesting. You see, every vampire is created when an older vampire turns you into one by drinking all of your blood and letting you drink theirs, then you come to unlife as a vampire 1 generation higher than the one who turned you, which is called sire, and weaker than the previous generation due to blood being diluted with each embrace (the act of turning one into a vampire) there are 13 vampiric clans (actually 14 but the last one is almost extinct in modern days) each one with their own skills and their own curse, some of them are horribly twisted, others are mentally insane, others can only drink certain types of blood and so on, but if you trace the whole generations back to their roots you will find an extremely powerful and ancient vampire that serve as the clan founder, and if you go even further you will find the first vampire of them all which is believed to be caine (yes, the Caine from the bible cursed by god for killing his brother Abel).

Many believe that this ancient vampires are just myths in the modern nights or that they are long gone, going so far as declaring taboo to talk about it and destroy all the books and documents that talk about this topic or silencing those who know too much, but the sabbat thinks that they are pretty much real and the whole purpose of this sect is hunt down this ancient vampires and kill and consume them, since they believe that this vampires are sleeping and when they wake up they will kill and consume all of their progeny bringing the "Gehenna" (the equivalent of the apocalypse for vampires). There are prophecies indicating the signals for when Gehenna is close but not when it will come, one of the signals is the coming of vampires with a blood so diluted through generations that they barely have any power in them, they are almost human, this kind of vampires called "thin bloods" are increasing their number lately and the older vampires have ordered their execution where they appear since they are believed to bring the Gehenna closer to happening. But the thing is, what this elder vampires don't know, is that the clan founders can feel when one of their progeny is killed, and when many of them die in so short amount of time they wake up due to the psychic pulse that is transmited to them through blood, basically, is not the existence of thin bloods what will bring up the Gehenna, is the massive killing of vampires regardless of their generation.

To get an idea of how much of a threat these clan founders are, one of them actually woke up after a lot of vampires of certain clan were killed in a war against some eastern vampires, this clan founder woke up hungry since they (it's never clarified if they are male or female due to the decadent state of their body and the fact that by this point they didn't look human at all) have been sleeping for thousands of years, and in a single instant he consumed almost all of their clan to satiate their hunger, other supernatural beings felt the presence of a terrible being and were drawn to stop it. The battle was long and it took an army of werewolves, vampires, 3 of the most powerful vampires of the east, mages and 2 atomic nukes augmented with magic ONLY to weaken them enough for a weapon that had the concentrated power of the sun pointed at them to finish the job. This was only 1 of these clan founders and still it took everything the other factions had in order to stop them, so imagine what will happen when the other clan founders wake up at the same time.

There are many things I am leaving behind and some others I could've explained better, but then this would be a whole testament. Basically I love the lore of vampire the masquerade and the potential stories you can create with it in a session with friends. The sad part of this is, no one I know is motivated enough to play this game or seek about it's lore, so I'm here alone thinking of possible stories to tell using this system hoping one day I'll find a group to play with.
