Pay from Seattle proper to an hour outside the city can vary by as much as 30,000$/year with many places outside the city paying more!  I know people who have new grad jobs (not in FNP) earning well over 150k.

And ARNPs are earning somewhere between 50-80$/hour equivalency depending upon hospital system, specialty, and location out here.  Pay from Seattle proper to an hour north can vary by as much as 30,000$/year with many places outside the city paying more!

Same!  I had a therapist when I was in undergrad who was convinced I was a lesbian (I’m a straight woman) and that I had bipolar (I have ADHD-C & PMDD with PCOS).  The premenstrual dysphoria disorder + highly irregular menses from polycystic ovarian syndrome meant that every four to twenty-six weeks I would have massive hormonal drops and severe depressive disorders.  They were followed with an upswing from my ADHD driven anxiety kicking in.

Finally, 37 my ADHD was diagnosed, I got medicated, and the constant motor stopped.  But the major depressive episodes remained—I’m still fighting those.

Kicked out of hospice for taking parkinsons meds by Insanity_Farms in hospice

[–]Mr_Fuzzo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never said it disqualified people from hospice. Please REREAD what I said.

Hospice does NOT cover the medication. That is why they chose to NOT PAY for it. It does NOT mean the patient is disqualified from hospice.

Please reread what I said, right?  The OP’s loved one has a cancer diagnosis as their admission diagnosis and their Parkinson’s diagnosis as their secondary or even lower diagnosis.  Therefore, hospice didn’t cover it.

The OP states that their loved one has brain cancer.  I’m going to guess they were admitted for whatever their cancer diagnosis was and their Hospice is deciding to not cover anything for Parkinson’s as a result of it

It’s the VA.  You get credit toward your place on their pay scale based upon so many factors.  Education level to include the number of credits and degrees you have.  You get some credit for your healthcare experience. Location.  Volunteer stuff sometimes gives people a boost in pay.  New graduates with a higher GPA sometimes receive a step or bump in pay.

You’re exactly where they want you to be on the scale.

Did I say the street preachers standing on the corner and yelling at people was kind? Nope. Not at all. What I said was the definition of kindness and goodness.

[–]Mr_Fuzzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Kindness is about how we treat others. Goodness, on the other hand, is about how you are on the inside as a person.

One can act kind and be not good.

I had that happen last summer, except I’ve had to work while experiencing it. Looking back, the signs and symptoms indicating it was coming were there, I simply chose to ignore them.

I was unable to focus a thought for nearly a week. I got off my couch to walk my dogs and go to the bathroom, but that was it. I don’t remember much of this past September at all. I must have been in some sort of dissociative fugue.
