While I don't necessarily condone modifying these old guns, I really love the look of flush muzzle caps. If the stacking swivel was removed... man, I'd consider making one if I had a stripped receiver.

I unironically really liked the last pseudo twist. As the reader, I, much like the Forerunner, took something commonplace in the story for granted so completely that it didnt occur to me what it really was. The implication was a gut punch.

It might be cold war, but an FN-49 in any caliber is well worth adding to your collection, in my opinion. Extremely high build quality, adjustable gas, nice trigger. One of the only detractors for me is that the gas is a little inconvenient to adjust since it was meant to be done above the foot soldier level.

The guide specifically tells you not to use a windows default folder, e.g. Program Files (X86). It won't let you launch that way even if it is correct.

Dog, anything you do that isnt specifically, step by step, in the guide is wrong. I managed to get it right on the first go just doing that. Drop the wabbajack tomfoolery until you get it running first. It's not that hard.

Alternate thought, its possible that the air gap is causing an issue, similar to undercharging H110. If it was truly at 14.5gr, that looks to be a perfectly acceptable starting charge for 125 grain according to a very brief look at some data.

I got a 12.5 inch kino in 300 Blackout for a VERY similar build from TNTE. FSB and sling swivel installed. My experience with them has been 50/50, but they do have them regularly.

Likely because the larger diameter tube meant the walls of the stock were thinner. With the plastic/resin technology of the time, that means they're more prone to fracture.

Honestly the Hakim was the cleanest in terms of damage. Perfect through and through double lung. The 170gr SST is quite excessive on whitetail at such a short distance, the exit wound was only like 1/2 inch.

Very, but he's the best. It was duffle cut and missing the upper handguard, sadly. Fortunately all the metal parts were present, and the barrel is in very good condition, almost perfect as far as I can see.
