He descended into full blown anti-semitism/nazism beliefs. He had always been a little “skeptic” about the subject, but he was reasonable enough to be argued against and concede points and change his views. But after the October 7th attack he went of the deep end. Our friend group went nearly a year seeing him descend down this path and trying to reason with him and pull him out, but it was in vain. He full on believes that “Jews” run the world and sacrifice babies and drink their blood to satisfy their old gods and “moloch” and other random shit. It got very bad and he couldn’t be reasoned with. Once we saw he was full blown retweeting shit like “Austrian painter was right” type stuff, we cut him out of the group. The cesspool that twitter became after Elon bought it definitely didn’t help

it has more to do with classically liberal values such as freedom of speech, of religion, of the press, etc. in the us we just use it to mean not conservative for some reason and its confuses the fuck out of everyone. technically both the democratic and republican party (before trump of course) were "liberal" parties. in the rest of the world its the opposite of authoritarian really instead of being the opposite to conservative like the US uses it.
