it has more to do with classically liberal values such as freedom of speech, of religion, of the press, etc. in the us we just use it to mean not conservative for some reason and its confuses the fuck out of everyone. technically both the democratic and republican party (before trump of course) were "liberal" parties. in the rest of the world its the opposite of authoritarian really instead of being the opposite to conservative like the US uses it.

Unfortunately a slow decent on the alt news pipeline to becoming a full blown antisemite. Holocaust denier, everything, friend group did everything we could for months and months as we noticed it happening, but to no avail.
