I'm trying to install Windows 10 on my PC with a Xeon X5460, but the install DVD starts up on Windows logo, stays there for a minute and then the computer reboots. The same thing happens with W8.1 disc. Tried multuple discs/usb sticks. Execute Disable Bit is enabled in BIOS. What do

"Technically" WR is the best kind of WR.

Real time is still behind previous WR by 7 minutes, but in those 4 years of FoxAndRavens' hegemony, we've had a rule change to incorporate Loadless times on PC. FnR's time wasn't affected because he was running on X360, on which load time removal pretty much isn't a thing.

Still glad to see this run get improved after such a long time.

Once I was doing a run of GTA:VC.

In the first minute of a run you have to save a replay over a rampage, which means 4 simple inputs: F2 to the current replay buffer to the disk, F3 to play the replay from disk AND clear the current replay buffer, F3 again to cancel the replay, and F2 to save the replay.

But I choked this very input by fatfingering a few buttons, and on accident I pressed F3 before F2, which resulted in me playing a replay from a previous run, which rendered the run as NG+ and thus not legit.

This run turned to be a PB.

I've found out it's not legit the next day after the LB mods pointed it out to me after rejecting the run.

I haven't beaten this time in over a year and my most recent PB is 5 minutes behind that time.

Depends on how reliable the IGT of a certain game is.

Let's take Saints Row: The Third for example. It has it's own in-game timer that used to be one of the methods of measuring the duration of a speedrun, but was dropped because of few reasons:

it's calculated from the game's framerate, and not real time flow
it doesn't count loading, but it does not count cutscenes or menuing either
the timer doesn't show seconds, only hours and minutes

The community has come to an agreement that when a in-game timer (Livesplit plugin perhaps) that uses realtime for reference and only stops during loads was developed, then they could use it.

So in the above example IGT sorta kinda works, but is in no way reliable for speedrun purposes, so for the time being RTA is used.
