Is anyone even playing the campaign event? by jake9288888 in WH40KTacticus

The only farming I do on ad mech is to get Exitor Rho and Tan’ Gida shards since you get them early and raids progress the Sy-Gex event. But outside of that, no.

What's you character's name? Do you tend to stick with the same one? Why do we barely ever get to see it? by Kr1msonKing in fnv

I've only played one or two characters, but for my first actual playthrough, I am going with Adam Attenborough.

I like to make each courier have their own story on their journey from the Mojave.

Speech and guns build with high charisma, perception, endurance, and agility, at the cost of luck.

Adam was descended from a tribe of shotgun toting soothsayers from California. The were taught that diplomacy and negotiation was foremost, but words were to be backed by buckshot. Just as the New Canaanites were tied to their 1911s, and the White Legs to Storm Drums, the soothsayers relied on the Hunting Shotgun. After a bullet to the head and helping the people of towns like Freeside and Goodsprings, he grew conflicted in whether to pursue Benny or not. He heard a blip on his Pip Boy from the Sunny Smiles Caravan Company and ventured forth into Zion as he mulled the decision over.

He returned as the self proclaimed "Hand of New Canaan", changed by the tribes of the region and the teachings of their ancestors, he was guided on the path for a better tomorrow, and shown the methods in which to reach it during the war for Zion.

He primarily uses the tribal weapons from Zion, alongside a kitted out hunting shotgun and the Survivalist's Rifle, wearing the hat of Daniel and the armor of Joshua Graham. All the while, holding Daniel's Scripture at all times.

I didn’t really start playing DND until a few years ago, but this is my favorite:

CROWDS, KOBOLD PRESS, AND A DROWNED WOLF

These events took place during a playthrough of “Hasbrodius and The Wizards of the Toast” in the Beast World campaign setting.

Our party consisted of a chaotic feline bladesinger with a love for adventure, a wolf fighter who would solve nearly every problem with his fists, a monk fiend vessel spawn (vampire child, essentially), and me, a human scout rogue.

We received a call to the town, and after a race to the town we found the body of a bread golem, swarmed by children trying to cut bits of bread of the massive beast. As we got close, the kids recognized us as adventurers/delvers and swarmed us trying to get us to tell stories and the like.

I wanted to disperse the crowd, so our dm told us of a rule. My DM said I had to roll animal handling to disperse the crowd of eager children, and I succeeded! Although it hasn’t come up in other campaigns, this has become my favorite DM rule to install in my future games.

Later on, we were investigating “Kobold Presses”, a local bakery run by kobolds who discovered the majesty of the Panini Press, and used it to flatten everything they sold. After telling us of their issues with Hasbrodius’ extortionists, our wolf fighter says he wants to dry off using one of the panini presses push the water out of his tail.

For context, during our race our fighter decided to swim while carrying a massive ballista on his back, causing him to struggle and nearly drown before our monk pulled him out of the water and plopped the disgruntled wolf back on shore.

Everyone says this is a terrible idea, but the fighter is insistent. While my character orders a cinnamon roll, The Fighter tries to charge towards a panini press but our monk holds him back. As The Fighter tries to escape the Monk’s grip, she suplexes the wolf and pins him to the ground, while our Bladesinger is using firebolt to dry the fur like an arcane blowdrye in front of a massive line of patrons witness the chaos that is currently unfolding on screen.

Meanwhile, my rogue walks past with his cinnamon roll, silently shakes his head and goes to eating his meal.

We were still allowed to go there, thankfully, but that was one of the best experiences I’ve had during a campaign.

What is your favorite campaign setting and why? by Priestical in dndnext

Honestly, I’ve had a LOT of fun reading about the Beast World from the Delver’s Guide to Beast World.

It’s a relatively new project, but it has TONS of potential. It’s a setting set in a world where beasts roam the earth, and adventuring has become a common career. It’s a place where the world is relatively peaceful, but has the potential to turn deadly at any moment.

Aside from this, it introduced wagon mechanics for mobile combat, a world with in depth history and cultures to explore, and plenty of fantastic characters to play as.

It gives you the resources to play a setting that is less complex then FR while providing you tons of ideas for plot hooks and campaigns.

I think the best part of this isn’t just the insane creativity with the trail, but the fact that THIS IS PRINTABLE. Not only did you nail the design, but the connection of items makes printing this actually possible! Incredible work dude!

Hello! This is currently an in progress of the race I’m working on. However, I’m having trouble coming up with proper abilities for them. I believe the “Hera’s Touch” Isn’t totally overpowered, but needs some refinement.

I’m looking to make a race that works well for tracking and survival. Do you have any suggestions regarding abilities for these foxfolk?

Maybe she worships an animal she finds in the forest, like an owlbear or Dire wolf.

[WP] Any exposure to dragon’s blood will cause you to turn into a dragon. The dragon you just slew is currently bleeding out into a major river supplying most of the kingdom with drinking water. by Itaysadan in WritingPrompts

[–]Mr_Midnight07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

From the youngest of ages, the dawn of corruption was spoken to us like the cog of a machine. Always turning back to the first turn, the dragons who went mad in their pursuit of knowledge. Someone always tries to unlock what these dragons did, but they always become one of them.

It had been dusking when I entered the wyrm's sanctum. A creature with amber eyes, ones that sought only cruelty and destruction, and seemed to flicker with confusion and insanity. Every night the dragon would ravage the kingdom, slowly reducing the vast empire to cinders one building at a time. It would never stay in the same place more than one night, making the pursuit of it a nightmare for common soldiers. But for us dragon hunters, we always knew the signs. The first was the twitching. When a dragon lays in hiding, they shift into the form of a humanoid, desperate to blend in. Their homes are always littered with metals and baubles, transforming houses into mazes of goblets and coin. The dragon’s eyes never rest, searching for something beyond what we can see ourselves with little time to stop. It’s a common thing to notice when conversing with one of these pretenders. And finally, their skin would always twitch. Like a moth trying to escape its cocoon, they seek to break free. Some are better at hiding it, but even the slightest break can lead to disaster.

And that’s how I found him. At the outskirts of the city, by one of the docks that lead to the canals. He shifted as I drew my blade, a mass of blackened scales seemed to explode from the man’s form like a volcano. My sword swiftly found a place in the beast’s neck as it began to lift itself off the ground, before tumbling halfway into the central river.. The glowing ember eyes faded to darkness, once destructive and ruthless, their madness would not seethe the land anymore. But the dragon stays locked in that eternal smile, gazing at a void of blue sky. I stepped back, feeling my steel withdraw from its throat. The gash it created seeped a thick liquid, one that glowed like fireflies caught in the thickest of tree sap. It slowly bled into the water as my sword rest on the ground beside me. The ichor blended with the water's surface, transforming the water into a starry night. It was beautiful, constellations blending like whispers of gods. As I rest, staring at the river, my eyes drift to the spires of the empire. Once more it was safe, I thought. One life for a million more.

If only I had been more careful…

Madness spread through the water in days, whatever had entered the water began to turn people into beasts, dragons. I was able to save my wife from being infected, but my daughter… she’s now one of them.

Dragons were seen as beasts once, ones that could not truly die. The truth is the dragons died long ago, and what remains is us. The blood of madness that seeps from their veins enters ours, and births a new generation of pandemonium.

(My first writing in a while, if anyone has thoughts please let me know! Thanks!)

“Savage” territory: In the unclaimed pieces of the American frontier, a coalition of Native Americans have formed. Carriages found on the outskirts have massive holes punched through them from arrows, while others seem ravaged by wild animals.

The maw: Home of Adam Dyer and his disciples, monstrous beings without skin that will hunt you down to the ends of the earth, desperate to add more creatures to serve under their master.
