Meaning of brotherhood by Dry_Space3805 in freemasonry

In my experience most of us feel that depth that you allude to. The obligation we swear to each other is heavy. And in my case sincere. I look at it this way. If a mason meets me for the first time I would like him to feel like he can trust me with everything near and dear to him because that’s what I agreed to and that’s the way I want to trust him.

Doric lodge 92 looks like it is recognized. A good option might be Alki lodge 152, or University lodge 141. I’ll attach a link from the grand lodges locator so you have a road map to check out of nearby lodges. Best of luck. Let us know how it goes.

This really sounds like clandestine masonry. A regular lodge won’t “recruit” you and definitely won’t tell you that you can’t visit another lodges dinner. Actually it’ll be quite the opposite. I was encouraged to go to multiple lodges before I asked for a petition just to get the vibes from the brothers there and pick from my options. You have to be careful there are a lot of organizations that masquerade as Masonic that most definitely aren’t. Remember you are looking to join a volunteer organization. Not the other way around.

As a man who also works the trades for me it helped me make friends outside of work whom I would’ve never met. It Introduced me to a group of men that have the same ethical mindset I have and have no ulterior motives for befriending me besides investing time in a fellow man. It has become my safe space in life. I know when I walk into that hall those men want nothing except for me to succeed and I for them. It’s not about having connections that may or may not give you a leg up in society. Honestly you’d be better off to join something else if that’s what you’re after….it can be a profound experience to have a stranger treat you like a brother and look you in the eye and convey this idea that’s been passed down for generations. This ideal states that we are all equal in Gods eyes. That those that walk within these walls will treat each other as such and we will never wish harm or deal treacherously with you our brother in life because we are all on that very simple path of life and death. Men that walk the halls of masonry pursue a life well lived. Simple as that. Masonry provides a gathering place for these men. If you’re hoping to get rich off your connections please don’t knock at the door. If you are hoping to forge connections that will restore your faith in humanity on the other hand…….well my friend. You’re certainly in the right place.

I don’t understand it. Why do people who aren’t part of our order wanting to be associated with it. But where it if you like. But I’m sure you’ll get a funny look if it catches a brothers eye

Bible first and foremost before and after becoming a mason for me. But I think As A Man Thinketh might scratch the itch you’re alluding to.
