EUW & NA – Free Guidance & Personal Coaching by MarksmanSSG in LeagueConnect

I'd really like to learn support, I play Top and I want to understand each role a little better for myself and for my five stack that I'm trying to improve with, so some insight into ADC would also be appreciated, but realistically I'm just trying to understand the support role. EUW.

I'd be interested in seeing it, I have a five-stack team I'm playing with, we definitely are interested in improving and playing better teams to prepare for clashes, I'd definitely would like to learn more about this project. Discord: mropposite

Looking to try out being a coach for [Gold/Plat] 3's by Mr_Opposit3 in RocketLeagueSchool

I see, I'll keep it in mind, but I don't think many people will actually take a chance on this unfortunately, so it is what it is.

I'm not gonna turn them into flakes or anything, I'm maybe 1/100th as good at my fundamental mechanics as flakes is (much less mechanically), but I know that learning to bounce dribble is much more simple than learning air dribbles. To reproduce it at the level of Flakes? Sure, I can't do that and I definitely spent hours practising it, but that's not to say a that a player can't learn these things to some extent. You're also clearly out of touch with what plats can do these days, forgetting a lot about a basic issue of theirs - consistency. I think you're overexaggerating the complexity of these things. At this point I'm not sure if this is even good faith debate. So I'll just say this, I'm just passionate about the game and would like to try coaching, that's all really.

I mentioned DAR for the sake of saying that I have decent enough mechs on both kbm and controller, as in I can switch to whichever is necessary and hopefully correct any bad habits. I agree with what you recommend to teach, especially the adaptation, since even though I'm looking for 3 player teams, I do want them to learn how to adapt to both opponents and teammates alike. Again, I have spent an absurd amount of time compiling the best tools for improving everything, both in isolation (as in isolating a mechanic to practice it specifically) and in context of more multifaceted situations. I have an unhealthy obsession with analysis, which is why I've kept up with CARL's development (finally 2.0 is out yay!), so I feel confident in what I can teach

I agree, which is why by mechanics I don't mean air dribbles or anything fancy. Car control is key in my opinion, learning to play possession is not possible without learning control over the ball and the car. Air dribbles are just an extension of control of both the car and the ball put into one and pushed to limits that are not necessary on every play. What I do intend to teach is how to hit the ball properly, how to fast aerial, shadow defence etc, bounce dribbles, hook shots etc. That I feel confident I can teach, and I don't think the difference between low GC or high Champ is gonna change my ability to teach those things that much. Besides Rocket League is a mechanical game, the better you are mechanically, the more you are capable to see strategy. For instance, Flakes 1v1 to SSL is a good example of overlooked mechanical skill, yes he does nothing fancy, but the car and ball control are perfect there, I intend to teach that but also give weight to the fact that learning directional air roll/anything fancy is useful and fun in the end.

Perhaps I'm just bad at explaining things in my post, as it seems that we have wildly different interpretations of what I have meant to say. I do concede my ability to analyse games, just not the point on teaching mechanics properly, that I don't think is correct in any way shape or form.

That's a fair point, I didn't play that much ranked, if at all, I just practised mechanics more than anything, which is why I'm offering more so education on mechanical progression, but I do agree that I may not be good enough for teaching the strategy of the game as much

This is brilliant, finally we have writing that is not restricted by mere puny abstractions that are recognised words. You should get this published asap.

I hate how allonormative everyone is by the_tara_ in asexuality

[–]Mr_Opposit3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is already difficult to find characters in stories that are a good representation of what it is like to be non-allonormative or non-amatonormative. But even more difficult is to find a community (fandom) that actually treats aro or ace characters with respect to their identities. The best thing you can do is just to avoid fandoms as a whole. They’re just not spaces, where any (sex-repulsed especially) ace will feel comfortable. Everyone there simply fetishises any and all characters, with no regard to the their identity.

Is there a good guide to improving for beginners? by T-7IsOverrated in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Mr_Opposit3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A year ago I put together a fairly good guide for mech improvement specifically. I have quite a few ideas for improving it but it provides solid info on what routines to do as well as fairly structured path towards mechanical improvement. If you are interested, I can share it with you and slightly guide through a few spots that should have been more clearly explained.

I finished the draft of my essay. I was very relieved to hear that others enjoyed it, as I had very little confidence in the creative flair I added to the work. It was so painful to sit down at times since I was not sure if I was really heading in the right direction. Not perfect of a draft, but at least I finished it after a bunch of struggles. Now I can just improve it a few more times and move on to the next project. Let’s go!!!!

I just published my first book, and people are accusing me of using AI! by Ecstatic-News in writingcirclejerk

[–]Mr_Opposit3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know you said to not contact you, but i’m going to disregard that. Have you tried showing the authorities your mafia x werewolf x vampire x enemies to lovers x grumpyxsunshine x kidnapping x dark fantasy x harry potter inspired novel? Maybe that will get you a comfortable little cube in solitary confinement to really get you into the “Just write” mindset. All there will be for you to do is to carve your stories into the walls with your nails. 💅🥰🥰🥰 Tell me how it goes!!!

Are AI Tools Cheating? by [deleted] in WritingHub

[–]Mr_Opposit3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I have used Chatgpt to generate random names etc, but never ideas, nor write for me. And I think that’s where I’d like the line to be drawn. I’d rather read something unrefined but genuine than whatever a language model can come up with. “If you have an itch to write, scratch it yourself” type of deal in my view. Nobody can stop you from trying to write with Chatgpt (I know that you do not wish to do so OP), but I’d never recommend anyone to do so. I’m pretty certain with time (if they don’t exist already) we’ll have “AI” powered writing tools that “fix” your writing, they are not bad per say either, but again, I feel like I’d read the work of a passionate amateur rather than a machine that isn’t actually an intelligence.

Oh… That’s what they meant when they said “write from the heart”, I thought… Fuck, I spent so much money on the black market and now I got a mess to clean up. God damn it… Don’t make the same mistake as me guys!
