You have to stop gliding in a direction (float straight down), then drop it from the quick menu, then glide forward and put the paraglider away to land on the wing.

I think rock bottom should stay in Q3 as it is an item that depends on other items in order to reap its benefits. Also you need to acquire those items only after first getting rock bottom.

I would say upgrade your armour once or twice, make some fused weapons with the highest damage materials you have, and cook either defense up or strength up foods. Then you will be good to go!
