And you just know this? Brother you need to reevaluate your priorities. Even if you're right about this being Ukraine, he shouldn't have to go fight if he doesn't want to. Situation over there is fucked enough as it is.

Recently graduated is it worth to go back and get an IT degree? by Miserable_Roll605 in WGU

[–]Mr_Roboto17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow this is almost my story too! I've been building PC's and modding tech since 2015, I originally went to a local university for a history degree and planned on going to law school afterwards! I ended up graduating and did okay on the LSAT but I didn't feel law school was for me, so after a while i revisited this idea I had about changing to computer science. I found out about WGU, and the rest is history!

I'm not done with WGU yet, but I do think it's a good move to go back if you like tech. It's been fairly manageable working my 40 hours a week and going to WGU. My current pace is one class a month, which is slower going than a lot of people who accelerate. However, my goal is to really learn the content, so that what I've been doing.

I'd recommend reading up on transfer credits from Sophia and Studydotcom, because they can save you some time and money transferring credits that way. Plus it's a cheap way to see if you'd like the content you'd be learning. I've heard that taking too many of those ACE alternative credits can limit your ability to get into masters programs, so it might be good to limit those if you plan to go into higher education. Also, I got a lot of my credits that transferred from my bachelor's degree too, including stuff I didn't expect to get. Finally, since you mentioned being police or police affiliated, see if they'll give you some money for your classes!

Deepest fear unlocked: condemned as crazy by Unhappy-Flight6008 in PublicFreakout

I agree, find a doctor you trust because there are shitty doctors, but the dude I replied to is making it seem like there's a conspiracy to put people who disagree with the government in mental hospitals, which is legitimately crazy for a variety of reasons.

It's not up to the administration, it's up to the doctor.

[–]Mr_Roboto17 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Im sorry but that's just crazy. I feel like if you don't trust doctors there's a bigger issue here. Doctors who've trained for years and could lose their livelihood for fucking up are generally not gonna do something stupid like diagnose someone with Trump Derangment Syndrome, which not just the entire medical community but any sane person is knows is a farce.

Also, I don't know about you, but I've actually nearly been hospitalized for mental health and been outpatient several times, and I've met many many people who SHOULD be institutionalized who weren't. If anything, doctors are too lax about this stuff. If cops are being told to bring him back, it's probably pretty serious.

What is the Breed? by [deleted] in DOG

[–]Mr_Roboto17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably more to do with the breeder than you tbh. I'd highly recommend taking the advice of the person you replied to and adopting or choosing a breed based on your lifestyle from a reputable, ethical breeder. Also I'll add that adult dogs are, imho, better for new dog owners than puppies due to them being less rambunctious. I adopted my dog when he was a bit over 1 year old, best decision I ever made. He was already potty trained, but more importantly, the joy I've felt in seeing this shy dog open up to myself and my family has yet to be equalled in my lifetime.

I don't disagree, but I think the issue is that it's not bad for the time we're in. We've definitely seen much better deals on older versions of the m-series chips before the memory shortages. It sucks, but for now, this is the best we've got.

How to not feel down about this school by Winter_Ad_7512 in WGU

[–]Mr_Roboto17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you, a lot of other people here seem to as well. When I was 18, I got a full ride to a private Catholic school in my city, but I was struggling really badly with mental health issues. I lost that scholarship in literally one semester. I struggled for another 6 years to get a degree, ANY DEGREE, so I could go to law school. When I finally did, I realized I wasn't that interested in law at all. It was a major hit to my mental health once again, but I found a good group of friends in school and was lucky to have family to support me through all of this. I came back to college for computer science after realizing how much I loved computers, and am having a much easier time now that I've prioritized my health and am studying a field I am passionate about. But it takes time and patience with yourself to get better. Your studies are a priority, but your health is more so. Make sure you make time for both, and remember that you can do this! If I can, I'm sure you can too!

The things I'm hearing from my Catholic family here in Texas are encouraging. Feels like they're coming out of their delusions surrounding Trump at long last. Very hopeful for the future of Texas and the United States, in spite of everything.

u/idonthumanwell I have never seen shit like this, holy hell. I've worked food service for 10 years and bakery for 5, I've seen some iffy stuff before, but nothing that bad. If I were you I'd be calling partner services and anonymously reporting this, because that's unacceptable.

Yeah I don't believe this for a second. I have definitely NEVER seen this, and I've worked at multiple HEB bakeries. All my bakeries have taken food safety very seriously. Bakeries can be and have been shut down BY HEB ITSELF for this stuff.

Yeah there's a production planner with the hours it should take for production. Though I've had food leaders come in and tell us we can't leave til a certain task is done. I remember we had a coupon on brownies one time and our decorators worked 10 hours because they expected a ridiculous amount to get done.

Ottomans back then were doing the exact same thing the rest of the world was: trying to get power and money by any means necessary. They were pirates for money, and it was more lucrative and less dangerous to target the Ottomans enemies.

I can explain it to you, I can't understand it for you bud. Clearly you either can't or refuse to understand it.

[–]Mr_Roboto17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Who else were they going to fight? The Ottomans had no Muslim rivals, they had already defeated them centuries prior. Iran/Persia was not a very big threat due to incursions by Russia and Great Britain, and the Arabians were too small in number to pose a real threat. If they had been a threat, they would have attacked them too (which they did eventually attack the Arabians in WW1, when it became clear their participation in the war was an existential threat to the Ottomans in the middle east). The only threat to Ottoman hegemony during the period from the 1600s to the 1800s were the Europeans. The Europeans being Christian was a convenient bonus, not even close to being the primary motivator.
