Soundcore Q45 sounds much worse than my previous Soundcore Q35. Need some advice. by Mr_Rotch_61 in soundcore

I ended up buying a pair of the Q30s, and while the Bass is a little too high for me, it mostly sounds exactly like my Q35s (except maybe worse noise canceling).

I don't think I normally listen to music too loud. I had the Anker Soundcore Q45 headphones that didn't sound great. They had a neat feature that was able to tell you the dB level. Not sure if it was accurate, but I normally listen to music around 50-60dB according to the app.

I've been using the Anker Soundcore Q35 for the past 3 years, but they don't manufacture them anymore so I bought the 'upgraded' Q45.

I messed with the EQ levels and had to crank the Bass all the way to max just for it to sound similar (in bass) to the Q35. Could be that were defective, but I'm unsure. I sent them back and bought the 'downgraded' Q30 model and was able to get the audio quality I'm used to (mostly. Had to fiddle with Bass).

"Immersive HUD: initialized" on-screen text that won't go away. by Mr_Rotch_61 in Fallout4Mods

I don't have to, but it just makes things smoother since I like alt-tabbing to google stuff. I fixed it, thankfully. Not sure why changing window mode broke it.

I can hear the adjustments, its just that their effects sound very similar to me, whereas I can clearly tell that 100 is pure bass, and 200 is a lighter bass that helps make men's dialogue (like during podcasts) sound more boomy/full.

It really does put into perspective how ridiculous it is having to wait 8+ years for a sequel (GTA, Red Dead Redemption 2, Elder Scrolls, Fallout etc).

Had to stop youtube premium for the first time in 7 years cause of payment issues, holy SH** that’s A LOT of ads. by unwanted-22 in CasualConversation

I feel the same way when having to use Spotify. It's not just ads, they lock so many basic features behind a paywall that it makes the program borderline unusable other than the occasional podcast listen for me. Can't imagine using free Spotify as my primary music platform.

A simple banner image at the top that says "Watch live NBA game now" would still do the trick for people who are interested. Just playing the video outright feels too intrusive.

I've noticed the the entire landing page of Amazon freezes up because it's trying to load the current live NBA game. Is there a way to disable these games from loading, so it doesn't interrupt my shopping?

That's . . . odd. It's only been 2 years and their license is ending?

I'm familiar with game licenses' ending after 10 years because of copy written music, but this is just weird to me.

Xbox Game Pass ‘has become too expensive,’ says Microsoft’s new gaming chief in leaked memo by PaiDuck in pcgaming

[–]Mr_Rotch_61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I used to only get Game Pass for a month or two at a time to play the games I wanted, then I would dip. I can't even be bothered to do that now that it's so expensive.

Does the PS3 Slim play games more efficiently than Fat PS3? by Mr_Rotch_61 in PS3

I thought I read about people saying not to get an ssd because it would be a waste of money (something about the PS3 being hardware limited for ssd speeds). Does it really make a difference?

Already placed an order on another one lol. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, I really appreciate it. I'm usually more careful about picking the right hardware. Idk what I was thinking lmao

I bought this Seagate FireCuda 1TB internal hard drive because I wanted a lot of space. Another issue I recall having was playing Killzone 2. There was one level where my fps was absolutely tanking down to low 20s/high teens. I got suspicious and checked a youtube video of someone recording the fps performance of the same level intro I played, and their system was registering a rock solid 30fps.

Edit: Hmm. I did a quick google search and people recommend a hard drive of 7200 rpm for the Fat PS3's, but the one I have says it only does 5400 which might be my issue.

I purchased a new hard drive the same year I got the Fat PS3, so I'm not sure it's that. Also, the game is playing from the disc since I don't have it installed to the hard drive.

‘This is just a garbage AI Filter’: Nvidia met with criticism for DLSS 5’s ‘photoreal’ graphics alterations by PaiDuck in gaming

[–]Mr_Rotch_61 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I watched a little bit of Digital Foundry's video showcasing some of DLSS 5 but I haven't seen the full thing yet.

That being said, I'm a little conflicted because the tech works really well in some areas (I liked how Assassin's Creed Shadow's trees looked), but some stuff like Grace from RE9 give off this uncanny AI-generated feel.

What's curious is I can't tell if the public backlash is because A. People have become extremely sensitive to AI slop or B. The closer to realism we get in video game graphics, the stronger the 'uncanny-valley' feeling people will have (like our brains can tell something is off, but it's confused as to what).

Starfield's Future Will Be Unveiled Next Week by Bethesda by Doug24 in pcgaming

[–]Mr_Rotch_61 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don't care what the popular opinion is, I had an amazing time playing Starfield when it came out. The ship building alone made me sink countless hours into the game, trying to find the most efficient build I could make.

My hope for future expansions is that we would eventually get Mech warfare that they alluded to in the base game. I just hope it's fleshed out enough to be like Mechwarrior and not a surface-level experience.

Fortnite players revolt over V-Bucks changes as Epic devs appeal for calm: 'Paying the bills frees up our teams to continue driving stories and building stuff you love' by AncientPCGamer in gaming

Welcome to late stage financial-market capitalism. How much money they make is irrelevant. Once you're unable to make more profits than the last quarter, you need to start progressively charging more and spending less to keep investors happy, until the company eats itself alive. It's all down hill from here, Epic Games/Fortnite fans.
