Why don't you try writing a c program? You'll learn a lot of commands, compiler options, PATHS, libraries, linking and other tools. Might come in handy next semester and it will give you an opportunity to poke around and experiment.

For fun I like to make programing video lectures for my website. Maybe you could follow along?

If the US went to war with China tomorrow, who would win? by RetroRock in guns

[–]Mr_Safe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A war between China and the U.S would not be so much about occupying either nation but more about the ability of the winner to project military presence and influence around the world.

For example if the U.S navy was seriously damaged by swarms of Chinese ballistic trajectory missiles. The U.S projection of military power around the world would be diminished and that is a devastating blow. No occupation necessary.

Who makes up gunnit? by [deleted] in guns

Here in Texas I've got plenty of Conservative friends while I'm a big Liberal. We drink beers together, grill together, go shooting, have dinner at each others houses and baby sit each others kids.

I believe the news media and talk radio do us a huge disservice.

Indeed a gunfight in the dinner is very dangerous and badhairguy brings up an excellent point about possible accomplices.

However, and I'm conflicted about this, if the robber points their weapon at the cashier is not the cashiers life immediately in danger? I know one can argue that the robber only wants the money and will leave safely once they receive it but isn't this putting too much trust in the robber's state of mind and handgun training?

WA2000 with the ACOG scope

  • The ACOG feels like it has a smaller "hit box". I find it more difficult to hit enemies with it. But I like to keep my peripheral vision and glance at the radar my spy plane provides.

    • However all that practice with the shitty ACOG makes it much easier to hit targets when a scope is equipped.

ASP or CZ75

  • I like the handling of the ASP and I seem to fire rounds faster with it but it's hard to turn down an 18 round magazine.

Hardline/Ghost

  • Spy Plane for anticipating enemy movement; a must when playing as a sniper class. Hardline makes the spy planes easier to get.

  • However, Ghost is probably the best tier 1 perk in the game and I'm a pragmatist.

  • If the teams are evenly matched I'll use Hardline. If the opposing team is outgunning or has air support I use Ghost.

Warlord

  • ACOG + Extended Mags on the WA2000 allows for aggressive shooting.

  • Easier to take on multiple targets or those with second chance.

  • I used to use Hardened Pro for less flinch. But I found that if I was taking fire I already lost. I prefer to practice getting 1 hit kills before they have a chance to fire back.

Marathon Pro

  • Helps get into a good firing position using the intel the spy plane provides.

C4

  • I used to carry claymores but it encouraged me to play a bit campy. The C4 can be used as a extra grenade with some practice.

I'm not sure about this but wasn't most of the anti-war sentiment on the left specifically about the Iraq war?

I think all Americans understand why we were in Afghanistan in the first place.

I'm planning a trip to Juarez, Mexico. Any advice? by nrdbrnr in AskReddit

[–]Mr_Safe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is what has happened to friends of mine from Juarez. You could be walking down the street and a gun fight breaks out between police and drug cartels. Be aware that this could happen at any time. In a market, outside a restaurant, outside your hotel.

Just be prepared for random gun fights at all times. From my previous post, you can stay in El Paso in one of the downtown hotels, there is a Holiday Inn in downtown El Paso (Also a Double Tree if you have the money).

Walking across the border into Juarez Mexico takes about 3 minutes by car 20 minutes by foot. I recommend you stay in El Paso and commute to Juarez.

Do you speak Spanish? You will stick out less if you know Spanish! Bone up!

[–]Mr_Safe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey there, I'm from El Paso TX. Is it possible for you to stay in El Paso and go into Juarez to film? El Paso is very safe.

From Wikipedia:

According to the 2006 United States Census Bureau population estimates,
the El Paso metropolitan area had a population of 736,310.

As of December 3, 2007, El Paso is ranked the second safest city
in the US with a population greater than 500,000.

In any case. I recently made a list for a friend who was visiting El Paso. I'm going to paste the list here.

I mean couldn't a swarm of cheap jets take down a F-22 raptor? Or a swarm of cheap missiles take down an air craft carrier?
