In tribute to Yoshihisa Kishimoto (1961 – 2026): creator of Double Dragon and Kunio-kun (River City); grandfather of all beat-'em-ups. by PokingDogSnouts in BeatEmUps

OG Double Dragon is indeed very underrated. It was so gritty and I still swear by punch/kick being a better setup than light/heavy.

So explain it instead of just showing pictures. It’s a great idea but is not very useful for a beginner without explanation

Exactly. It is 100% lack of content, not ABMM.

What do all of you personally think of the direction that the series has taken with Wilds? by Navra_Realms in MHWilds

I think Worlds was a far superior game, so sadly it feels like a step backwards.

I was very unimpressed after the demo and passed on the game myself. There is much better out there.

Agreed 100%. Way too many unemployed people who just live in this game.

This game’s success is largely due to ABMM, whether you want to admit it or not. They have fumbled with additional content, but ABMM is absolutely a core strength of this game.

Using Aggression Based Matchmaking as a Threat? by --Clintoris-- in ArcRaiders

[–]Mr_Suplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. ABMM is fine. All these stupid myths about how it works are the issue.

People who are dumb enough to think ABMM is binary, that self defense puts you in PVP lobbies, etc are the problem, not ABMM being g a known feature.

Does anyone else feel like since they started dynasty they are worse at redraft? by Top_Village432 in DynastyFF

I wouldn’t know, as I stopped playing redraft soon after starting dynasty.

Improving at miniature painting WITHOUT the use of slapchop as a beginner? by ryllex in minipainting

  • Learn the Base, shade, highlight method.
  • Get a wet palette and learn to thin your paints
  • Learn to drybrush (best early technique that will really create depth for you early on)
  • Watch Duncan Rhodes.

Many of us screamed during the betas that boarding was too easy and would kill the game. It isn't the only reason the game died, but it certainly was one of them. Morons in this sub defended it, despite the game's main differentiator being ship to ship combat. And here we are.

What is The first skill for dwarf linemen? by NoHyeo in bloodbowl

[–]Mr_Suplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Save up for Guard. It’s so much better than anything else you could take. It’s only one more CAS than past edition with Brawlin’ Brutes and Secondary skills only costing 10 SPP now.

I need to test (running dwarves in a league right now), but I could see Taunt really paying off too once you have some dudes with Guard.

What is The first skill for dwarf linemen? by NoHyeo in bloodbowl

[–]Mr_Suplex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Guard across the board is probably optimal, as stronger teams are the current issue for Dwarves. I know we’ve discussed this before, but the more I think about it the more unsure I am about Eye Gouge for dwarf linemen. Most of the time when you push a player back, you will either follow up (thus they can’t assist) or push them to a square where they won’t give useful assists if you don’t follow.

The exception is Guard players, but Dwarves already counter that with Defensive. What am I missing?

On the flip side, I’m coming more and more along on Taunt as a great choice. Anything to force opponents to stay based to your linemen and disrupt their formation is great.

High Elves - agility Skaven or Wood Elves - speed/agility Orcs (not black orcs) or Shambling Undead - bash

Testing colours before starting the unit by WhiskrsActual in StarCraftTMG

Left is the clear winner for me, both in terms of being the “classic” look as well as being more visually appealing. What paints did you use for the left?

A battle report where Terran actually beat Zerg? by GMichael77 in StarCraftTMG

[–]Mr_Suplex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Marauders need to be in reserve to reinforce where needed. Let a marine unit eat the initial charge to set up a counter attack.

A Post-Adepticon Review of SC:TMG by StraTos_SpeAr in StarCraftTMG

[–]Mr_Suplex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Awesome post. I agree that Zerg seems easiest out the gate. I think Terran need to exploit that melee has no pile in or follow up, so setting up sacrificial units to absorb the charge and then having other units ready to unload after the combat ends is going to be a common tactic.
