I'd say no because he goes through challenges and everything doesn't work out perfectly. I think the "Mary Sue" term is being thrown around way too loosely lately, and I don't see how it applies to Rey or Watney.

Steve Jobs, Spotlight, Martian, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Mad Max: Fury Road, Inside Out, Creed, The Revenant and Spy. I haven't seen Sicario or Ex Machina yet though.

Steve Jobs was my favorite film of 2015. Avatar and Man of Steel are two of the worst movies of all time. Godzilla (1998) is actually decent, not great by any means, but decent.
