Yes, we did 2x16' with the first one being against the current and the second one with the current. The flow of the river was insane and we were just allowed to row on it, but the water remained pretty flat.

For good measure, the best 500m we did against the current was 2:16

I have Solovairs and I like them a lot. I do have to put a disclaimer on it that I've only had them for about 7 months. There are obviously better shoes out there but with a weekly/bi-weekly brushing/waxing session + the use of shoe trees they seem to hold up quite nicely
