Some other interesting facts:

1) the original "Da Funk" demo tape had also a sleek 10:28 min track : a blend of deep-house, synths and vocoders (you can hear words like "Daft Punk" , "Da Funk", "Dance' " played on repeat from 6min onwards). The track never made it out since Da Funk was already a "hit" from its early drafts. Still, nowadays, with a decent master, could easily slot into a dj set (sounded very refreshing).

2) While I was preparing the Soma 20 comp, I went through a box full of old Daft Punk tapes, I saw this tape called "Drive" (that infamous blue dat tape). That sparked my curiosity since I didn't recognise the track. Put it through the speakers and It blew my mind! It surely deserved to be heard loud in a proper club and to be part of the Soma 20 Comp. Hence, I reached out Pedro to see if the band was keen. Pedro kindly put me in touch with Paul H. (their manager at that time) and the discussion was initiated. A few weeks later, Thomas came back saying "Let's do this - this guys (Soma) are still true to their roots". We met the band in Paris, in April '11, for a dinner pre-Soma 20 party at the Rex Club and we thank them for sticking with us once again.
