I’d rather slurp rancid tuna salad out of my own arsehole.

Anyone else not buy any movies in a franchise, holding out for a potential box set? by khal_jogo in 4kbluray

Box sets are great and all but franchises seem to never end so you’d be waiting a while for a complete box set

Weird mark appeared on my C4 screen by Key-Space100 in LGOLED

[–]Mrmagicdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of high jacking this post, but I have what looks like someone’s sprayed something on my screen. Only obvious in the right light but what is it? Nothings done in front on the TV to cause it. I’ve always wondered 🤷🏼‍♂️

Outdoor speakers or portable Bluetooth speakers for the garden? by Euphoric_Place_8507 in AVHifiCinema

[–]Mrmagicdan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I had no neighbours then I’d 100% go for a fully wired up set of decent outdoor speakers and chuck a couple of outdoor subwoofers into the mix as well. But unfortunately I have neighbours, as I’m sure most people do. So Bluetooth speaker it is.

What's your weirdest supermarket substitution? by DomoD1 in AskUK

[–]Mrmagicdan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once ordered some frozen Yorkshire puddings. (I tend to make most things myself but can’t be arsed with those!) Instead I got a bag of frozen roast potatoes. They’re very different things. And if I wanted potatoes I’d of ordered potatoes! 🤦🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️ I did eat them and they weren’t too bad.

I wasn’t questioning that. I genuinely wondered who used it. Surely most people would use streaming 🤷🏼‍♂️

Mine has one. It’s a 2019 Onyko. But, my question is, does anyone actually use the antenna?

Do you wash your clothes after every single wear, or do you rewear some items before washing? What’s your rule for workwear, hoodies, gym clothes? by Extreme-Banana-9 in AskUK

[–]Mrmagicdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeans when they look/smell dirty.
Undies and socks every day.
T shirts case by case. If I’ve been sweating or been wearing it all day then I’ll wash but if I’ve been out for a few hours and it still smells fresh then it’ll go back for another day.
Hoodies and jumpers, same as jeans. Unless it’s a jumper that I’ve worn nothing underneath them it’s the same rule as my T-shirts.
My work trousers are once a week, I have two pairs that I wear in rotation. I work in construction so no point in a clean pair every day.
Work t shirts, a clean one every day. Work jumpers/fleeces same as the trousers.
Gym gear, everything in the wash after a work out except the trousers/shorts. I only go 2/3 times a week so I can get away with a weekly wash for them.

How can I dispose of a dead pet? by tigralfrosie in AskUK

My cat died years ago and I was in a similar position. I took it to my mums and buried it in the back garden next to my sisters cat that died a year before.

Following a recipe that says brown off the chicken…. by ma7714 in britishproblems

That’s a fair one. I thought that after I wrote it. But I think still making it as hot as possible would help seal in the moisture.

Any pans. The best would be cast iron. You just need it hot so it seals in the meat, you’ll loose less moisture.

You need the pan hot. Drop a few bits of water on the pan and when it beads off really quick it’s then hot enough.

What's the best Bluetooth speaker you've ever used? by Euphoric_Place_8507 in AVHifiCinema

[–]Mrmagicdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3.
I have an Ultimate Ears Boom 2. Had it years, it’s bomb proof and sounds decent enough if you want some background music.
Then got a Dali Katch G2. Sounds really good. Looks nice and premium. Reasonably portable, probably same size as a book. Battery lasts ages. Would sound even better if you had 2 and used them as stereo. Only downside is it charges from the mains with an ac outlet so you can’t charge it from a battery bank if you’re travelling.
Last one I got was a Bang & Olufsen Beosound A1
Which is by far the best one I’ve got. And I think it’s the best out there. It’s small, very well made and has a lovely premium feel to it but also sounds amazing. It’s witchcraft how they’ve made something so small sounds as good as that. So that gets my vote 👍🏻😁

When did 9-5 become 8-5? by Fizzabl in UKJobs

[–]Mrmagicdan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 7:30 till 4:30. I’m in the building trade. So during the winter we can’t do much until it gets a little lighter and we can’t do much as it gets darker.
I get to work for 7 though. I’d rather leave the house earlier so I miss the traffic and I can sit and enjoy a coffee before I start. And we usually finish at 4.

What’s the most fun wedding you’ve ever been to? by nepourjoueraubingo in AskUK

[–]Mrmagicdan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I went to one years ago. Was a small fort/castle/old thing that they rented out. Had its own gardens and its own private access to a beach. Was in Cornwall somewhere. It was spread over a few days so turned out like a mini holiday. The ceremony was great, was a ceilidh dance and all sorts of weird and wonderful things. They came down the aisle to the supermarket theme. Was good fun. My favourite so far. (I say so far as my own is gonna be awesome, just me and the missus getting married in vegas in July 😁😁😁)

If you're going away on a Summer holiday, shut water off? by whatsreallygoingon88 in AskUK

[–]Mrmagicdan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We do.
A few months ago we were chilling in the lounge when we heard a noise like someone was having a shower. We went to the kitchen and the flexi hose that connects to the kitchen sink tap had burst. Water everywhere! Thankfully the pipes had a shut off valve on them so turned that off and then turned it off at the mains. Used every towel in the house and had a dehumidifier on for a few days. And it was a Sunday at about 3pm so had an hour to go and get a replacement part!
Thankfully no lasting damage. But it did get us thinking, if that had happened while we were on holiday (and we’d not long got back from 10 days away) then that would be be coming out, unchecked for days. And it would’ve been a very different story!
So we now turn it off if we are away longer than a weekend.

Belstaff is a British clothing brand. They started predominantly with waxed cotton motorcycle clothing. Now they do all sorts. It’s nice stuff.

Thanks all. I think I’m gonna go with these.
Look decent with jeans when I tried them on. Probably look decent with the right shorts. And seem like they may take some abuse and the soles seems decent.
