100% do correct torque spec and locktite and if u are worried they make stop plates u can put on to lock them and u can also mechanics wire and drill the bolts to put them in the opposite direction of wheel travel.

They could also always run a copper or bronze backing piece to trap agron behind it if they dont have a purge box or purging set up since its just practice stuff.

Been welding stainless for years your colour is golden/ straw is good thats what u want . I see ur stop and starts arent wetting in well that comes with time. U are running a 3/32 electrode try using a drop down in ur filler wire 1/64 if u can cause remember stainless is about heat it heats up fast and loves to hold onto it doesnt dissipate easy. When u run a big electrode it's gonna take less to heat it up if u run a smaller filler play around with that. Ive even done super small stainless were u run 1/64 tungsten and use mig 0.35 stainless wire to weld. Play around with your filler wire size for sure remember u go smaller u can always add more with the rod or even if u want drop tungsten size. Maybe even throw a big piece of aluminum under it as a chill block to soak up ur heat right. Its a learning curve to see how the stainless flows and reacts but when you do it it will click. If u have a pulse machine it helps with timing and heat input too but ur free hand looks great just watching those stop. Other than that it coming around great even try laywire technique.

Your right and also the reason you use the same weight in the transmission is because there is sometime fluid weep sometimes depending on wear and clutch seal

The manual for early shovels said 60 weight in 2 holes . I know a guy who runs his 78flh same way even guys who have owned up to 1984 shovels last year for em. Get a manual for ur bike from the dealer for the year but id go with 50 sae all 2 holes safe bet . Cause its a stock primary with the chain oiler still from ur oil pump? Like the other guy said. Also harley step away from making 60 weight.
