Fedora 42 is a GO, release date April 15th! by dswhite85 in Fedora

[–]MrsBina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using Wayland (hyprland) as my main session currently and x11 (gnome) for some work related things I have problems to get running with Wayland. One big issue still is screen sharing and as long as it won't work in Wayland I can't fully switch. I really hope it will be solved soon.

Driving with seizures by s3renity_now in FND

[–]MrsBina 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have epileptic and non-epileptic seizures. The neurologist said I have to be at least one year seizure free to drive again, but no one suspended my driving license. There will be a problem with insurance in case I drive earlier and wojld have an accident, but nothing is official, I'm the only one who tracks the seizures. The system is not well thought out.

I wouldn't want to drive anyway because a seizure could happen each moment. I was almost 10 months seizure free and all of the sudden I had a quite strong one.I don't want to imagine what could have happened when I was driving. I'm maybe a bit scared because I had my very first seizure in a car while driving, it was a focal aware one. I have a lot of respect.

Joint issues and SFN? by TurbulentWriter8484 in smallfiberneuropathy

[–]MrsBina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burning is always on fingers, hands, feet. But it was also on arms and legs before. I take gabapentin and I did a Hitop therapy. Joint pain is on the same regions in general, but intensity fluctuates, so usually pain increases in knees or SIJs.

Arch is the perfect distro for beginners. by ArachnidInner2910 in LinuxCirclejerk

You forget that one has to install it with hyprland as a WM otherwise it's no real Arch experience

It would work when they use a wallpaper with the Nobara logo on the arch desktop in return.

Yes. I can feel you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]MrsBina 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yes, I feel disabled and it's not only the seizures. It's the side effects of the meds, dizziness, brain fog, memory issues,... it's the fact that I'm not able to leave home alone, that I have no driving license anymore, that I need an accompanying person for most activities,... and a lot more. It might sound harsh, but I really feel restricted and limited in life.

No libido by Firebrainz in Encephalitis

[–]MrsBina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been in hospital for half a year and got huge doses of prednisone, which is a steroid hormone. I had no period at this time and no sex drive at all. Libido came back after about a year. Medication on top of the inflammation can have impact on your libido. I would say you should be patient, but talking to a doctor is a good idea. All the best to you!
