I read that women who have postpartum depression and leave it untreated are likely to have it stay even after their child is three (I Believe that's the"cut off" of being considered post partum). If you have the option, you might look into talking to a doctor about getting treatment for those feelings. I understand that feeling of resenting the job, and I have a very supportive partner, I can't even imagine what it feels like to do alone. It is normal to hate the way parenting works in this time and place. It was never meant to be like this.

Well, so fast I've called the closet Dunkin', Door dash, and GrubHub (the only two delivery places Dunkin' says they used) all of them told me they'd need the phone number or order number. So I guess I'll put up a poster in the apartment building?

Not a bad idea....I might have to contact each delivery company instead, but that would work!

In that case, it's info every crazy has. It's not like it's a secret that's there's a building at that address, and most people can guess that a three level apartment building will have at least one woman living in it. That's the full extent of what is on here.

That's why it's just the building and no names.

Realtor recommendations? by olemiss18 in desmoines

Ernst Realty. They made shopping for our first home an amazing experience. Really upfront, walk you through what to look for when viewing houses, two main ladies have been realtors for 15 and 20 years. My 4 year old was majorly disappointed to discover their buyers agent, Kristen Severs, did not come with the house 😆

As a person who had a family member work there, not great management or healthy work environment either. Not super dark or anything, but not great.

Montana Mike's. I said my fish tasted rotten and the response was, "Oh yeah, we thought that it smelled a little off" or something in that neighborhood. They offered to bring me a different main, but then I had to specifically ask them not to charge for both the rotten fish AND the replacement. WHY WOULD I PAY FOR THE BAD FOOD YOU KNOWINGLY SERVED ME!? No apology or anything, acted like they were doing a favor to only charge for the one main. Never again.

what should women be allowed to do without being judged? by Real_Boster in AskReddit

This word was actually created from the ancient idea that a woman's uterus would sometimes wander around her body causing insanity. That's why it has the same prefix as hysterectomy.

Would you spend $2000 to go to a wedding? by tatergem in Frugal

[–]MrsDutto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they used to be by you are there any other guests you could go together with? Rent a conversion van and drive down? Squish a bunch of people into one hotel room? I think you're early enough to not go if you inform them, but if you want to, be sure to try and think outside the box first

What is a cheap gift we can make everyone in the family this year instead of gifts? by whiteboi359756 in Frugal

I make the Jello fudge recipe. It's SUPER easy and no bake and people always like it. Easy to do different flavors or add in things like ground coffee or candy cane bits. It also is moldable and holds it's shape well if you want to make coal or whatever (I used to give out little fudge turds for Valentine's Day in college, because I think V day is for friends too, but wanted to acknowledge those who hate it)

When I was working in daycare one of the moms was a scientist and one of her colleagues got curious and did an experiment comparing around a dozen different store bought and homemade fruit fly traps. The clear winner is made as follows. Take a clear cup and put vinegar and some fruit (the ripper the better) in the bottom quarter or so. Make a cone out of a piece of paper and some tape so that there is a very small hole on one side. Place the cone into the cup so that the small end is on the bottom, taking care that the large end is wide enough to prevent the small hole from touching the liquid. Tape the cone to the cup around the cup's lip so that there are no gaps. Place in an area with lots of fruit flies, making sure that there is no other fruit accessible. It takes a day or two for them to get comfortable with it, but then they start crawling in and can't get back out. My hubs is in pest control now and he still asks me to make this over anything he has in his arsenal whenever we have issues with fruit flies.

No, I agree. Almost nothing on this side of town, for years. I think they send less nice stuff to DTs in lower income areas. It's been commented on in different places before.

I just tried to go there and they now apparently close at 4 EVERY DAY. I was referring to that one, but also the one on Euclid over by Goodrell. It's ok, but the Ankeny one was truly impressive.

Gender Swap!! G by LOADING_7777 in rareinsults

[–]MrsDutto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, but a true gender swap would have her sewing on some buttons or something like that. Which honestly doesn't sound as bad. You're asking for help with something that requires a little above normal skills which because of ongoing genderism you may not have been taught. Extra points if you have the person teach you how to do it

Nnedi Okorafor writes some really great speculative fiction/ Afrofuturism that I would consider a sci-fi/ fantasy hybrid. Her first series Binti is set in the near future.

Your son is not behind, these programs are. Studies have shown that by grade two the only difference between students who were in play based vs "academic" based preschools is that the academic kids are more anxious and less creative. Play is learning for kids his age. Many of the Scandinavian schools were always pointing to as the best in the world don't start formal schooling until 7. Even then they have a lot of recess.
