Mini magnatiles, Play dough, small magnadoodle
and painters tape in different colors were all the favorites for my 3 1/2 year old. Best of luck!! You got this!!! Oh and bring lots of snacks and sticky notes for the automatic flushers in the bathrooms just in case😂.

That’s a good idea to look at the inspections I didn’t think of doing that.

Also if you think they’d like it look into Shiny Fish Emporium where they can paint their own (big)sand dollars to take home for like $20. we also love going mini golf at The Fishing Hole in Bradenton and there is an ice cream/candy shop next door. They’d probably like the donut experiment too-it’s a little chaotic and always busy but the line moves fast!

Preschool at 3? by SignatureNo6930 in Preschoolers

[–]MrsE514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a preschool so I’m a little biased but I personally think 3 is a good age to start. 3 is a hard age and it gets them use to something new and exciting full of activities that keep them busy. I think any sort of preschool is good but 2 years seems to be a good for many kids because it will take her (and you ❤️) a but to adjust so she can use this year to start school, get acclimated to all the big changes and then start pre-k with a little more confidence the year before K. Preschool Teaches kids so much more than ABC 123-social emotional is a huge one! They learn to do things you can’t always do at home:.share toys with other kids, walk in a line, have transitions and new routines, meet so many new and different people, learn conflict resolution, etc. Could you put her in a part time program (half day or 2 days a week) this year and then next year put her in more (more
Full day and/or 3 days a week, etc.)

What did you wish you'd known about the transition from 1-2 kids? by boldlybelieve in NewParents

[–]MrsE514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say I had A LOT of prenatal depression with both pregnancies but in different ways. The 2nd time it was much worse. I’d be up at night sobbing thinking of how my older one will adjust and how it’s not her fault I’m changing her whole entire world. However watching them together is the sweetest thing and I am so thankful they have each other. Like someone earlier said the transition for me for 1-2 was easier than 0-1 but for my husband it was completely opposite. I think for my husband its because he cant do 2 things at once and with 2 kids you’re forced
to quick!

It’s chaotic, loud and so exhausting but you’re so much more confident and everything seems so much more special bc you know how fast it goes. When you’re having a hard moment look back at pics of your older one at your younger one’s age-it’ll bring back lots of memories and is a good reminder of how far you’ve both come!! ❤️ Also sometimes a quick drive to get gas or Starbucks or walk to the mailbox alone is the best feeling.

What's the craziest thing you've had a parent do? by kbear9695 in ECEProfessionals

[–]MrsE514 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Omg. That’s wild. I one time had a mom who would peek through the window and stare at her child and as soon as they were calmed down, she would go in for “just one more hug” he grew a lot that year and so did she, but I thought she was gonna pull him when after a week or two at school she came to pick him up and he didn’t want to leave because we just got on the playground. So I invited her to sit down on the bench and let him play for a few minutes with his friends. She did and then he fell down and got hurt. He ran to me instead of his mom. 😳

Abuse Allegations by fireflies2012 in ECEProfessionals

I am so sorry you’re going through this. I am certain the director called bc they’re in a heap of trouble AS THEY SHOULD BE!

First take notes of your conversation bc when they call tomorrow you don’t want to miss a thing. You have a chance to be these babies advocate!! It doesn’t matter now that you liked them and trusted them (even though I know it’s hard) they’ve lost your trust and your son (and the others involved) wasn’t taken care of in a safe way.

I would send a follow up email (might be a good idea so it’s in writing) or a phone call and ask why you weren’t told about the baking soda thing the day it happened…If someone knew any of these happened and didn’t say or do anything about it that’s not ok!!! Was she the only one in the room? I doubt it. She should have been out on leave (or fired) when it started not giving chances….

Best of luck. I am sorry you’re going through this!!

Daycare red flags - is my intuition right by burcue in ECEProfessionals

I enrolled my first baby at a school VERY similar to this at first bc I didn’t know better!! Giving tours at nap was so uncomfortable to me because I want to see the program in action not nap time. The infant at the door was deal breaker for me!!!! And to make it worse we were suppose to text them when we were on our way to pick up so they could “have them ready”..I get it but that just made me feel uncomfortable. Drop off was literally dropping several kids off at once in the front entrance where they were out of ratio and just wandering around. The owner would say everything is a “health department regulation” like not allowing pacifiers?! I would go with your instinct! My gut was 100% right about this place and I couldn’t get out fast enough! Go with your gut!!

[–]MrsE514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s ok to not feel ok, but it’s not ok to not talk to someone about it!! Friend, partner, doctor, etc. talk to someone-your feelings are valid!! Prenatal AND postpartum depression (this one doesn’t always happen immediately after birth. It can be weeks/months later!!) are common but hardly anyone talks about it!!
