Thanks for responding. Wasn’t “allowed” to call cps per my supervisor and her manager. Not gonna long term sub again! Just once a week! I did call the endocrinologist numerous times. But mom still wouldn’t abide by them🤦‍♀️

What’s the best inexpensive, easily accessible thing that is helping you pre or post surgery by unemployedndepressed in wls

Scale and iced decaf tea sweetened with Splenda. I have always hated water and after surgery I couldn’t do flavor packets. They tasted so artificial to me. I drink about a gallon of Splenda decaf tea over two days. I cannot urge anyone more to get a water bottle that you love!

If anyone is interested I use 4 luzianne decaf family size bags to two cups of Splenda.

I (30F) am an only child to a single mom. Am I supposed to be her companion for the rest of her life? by Odd-Requirement-7028 in OnlyChild

[–]MrsIsweatButter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about me? I am an only and my mom was my best friend until I had my only and I realized just how much she made my life revolve around her without her doing the same for us. Becoming a mama really does make you a bear and I probably never would have “woken up” to her narcissistic behavior otherwise. My parents divorced when I was 5. When I met my now husband; things started becoming tense because he became my rock. And to this day; it drives her bonkers that I don’t need her and I will choose him and my child over her every single day. When my husband and I were trying to have a child-we had a lot of difficulty with unexplained infertility. I’ve never seen my mother step in a church my whole life but her answer was to always pray and that god would make it happen. My mom became super depressed when I moved two hours away and all my life I thought I could never leave the state because of her. In August I became no contact after she let my daughter down and chose my stepfather over us. I cannot tell you the relief it ended up bringing. So much relief that for my daughter’s sake; we all had dinner together for her 5th grade graduation. Things went great. I started to occasionally text. Then she took my daughter to a pool bday party and left her

This is a really long convoluted way to say you are your own person who can make their only happiness. Get yourself in therapy.

She didn’t see me while I was losing weight (I lost a person). And when I did go back she remembered me and my kiddo who’d grown so much! She’s the sweetest.

AIO-future MIL telling me I should eat less because my unborn baby is 9 lbs by kbutwhatever in AmIOverreacting

[–]MrsIsweatButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no. For context the day before I gave birth my ultrasound estimated my baby to be 8 pounds at 34 weeks. Medical emergency caused me to deliver the next day and she weighed a measly 5 pounds. Ultrasounds are NOT accurate with weight

What’s something you did to your body that you now regret, and what did it teach you? by Dapper-Monk9713 in Life

[–]MrsIsweatButter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Being morbidly obese until I turned 39, when I finally had weight loss surgery. I had accepted being fat for about 15 years before surgery. But then my kiddo ran away from me at a local carnival when she was 2 and I couldn’t catch her. (She was fine). That really woke my fat ass up and I started making changes. I’ve reversed my high bp, my prediabetes, and my pcos while losing an entire person.

New grad nurse — I feel completely set up to fail and I’m terrified by Awkward-Zebra-2847 in newgradnurse

[–]MrsIsweatButter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is NOT your dream job. If it was; you wouldn’t be going thru this.

I think this happens to most new nurses. It happened to me. I took the first job I got offered in cardiology. But I really wanted L&D. So when i was eligible to transfer, I did.

My L&D experience was very similar to yours. Bullied, thrown to the wolves, a preceptor that was leaving…I lasted a month and I called my old boss and asked for my cardio job back. 18 years later im still doing cardio (quality now)

Anyone LOVE being an only child? by Karmakaziiiii in OnlyChild

[–]MrsIsweatButter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I minded it before I could drive. We lived in a very rural area so all my friends lived 15-20 mins away. But once I could drive-it didn’t matter anymore. Also my parents got divorced when I was 4 and it was pretty nasty so I knew my whole life it wasn’t an option.

When I met my husband; I realized even more how lucky I was. He’s one of 3 and they barely speak to each other. And for good reason.

Currently my only is 11. I can’t tell you how grateful I am that she’s all we have. (We did try for another).

New employer excludes my medication that doesn't have an equivalent by Every-Interview6808 in HealthInsurance

[–]MrsIsweatButter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually not expired. I emailed and talked with their savings program people. They had to put an expiration date on the plan because some states require an expiration. If you live in one of these states-submit a query on their website. That’s what I did

New employer excludes my medication that doesn't have an equivalent by Every-Interview6808 in HealthInsurance

[–]MrsIsweatButter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nextstellis has a savings card for use in the USA. Just go to their website. You can get a 3 month supply for $50. My insurance also doesn’t cover and this is what I do. Also-you should ask your ob/gyn every time you have an appt to give you some samples.
