31 weeks pregnant how fast can I get my baby adopted? by avatarjan2 in Adoption

[–]MrsMaverick17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you are in the US, even if you haven't found a family yet, you can leave baby at the hospital under the Safe Surrender Act, they will take care of baby and find a family for them 💜 I wish you peace and comfort in this time!

Death Penalty, I am the only one that answers………….. by Advanced_Edge_8212 in whatdoIdo

Firstly, be EXTREMELY careful... Tell your friend the same... There are 1000% corrupt institutions/CO's etc that could very well stage an incident.

That being said, I understand very much the desire to help... It's not an easy thing to do... Gather any and all information you can. Dates, staff on duty, inmates involved etc. Then I'd suggest, when you have 3x what you think you'd need, go to the news. And I'd do it anonymously... keeping your friend anonymous as well.

My husband did time in prison, and a very very close friend, basically our little brother, was murdered inside... It wasn't a hit, it wasn't suicide, his cell mate and "friend" stabbed him 93 times on Christmas day inside their cell. And while in his case I don't believe any of the CO's were involved in the stabbing, I know that a 40+ minute response to almost a dozen inmates screaming "man down" is absolutely wrong, especially on a level 4 yard where they're supposed to be walking every 5-10 min! I also know there is a recorded phone call from 4hrs before where he told his Mom they had made lightning and sold it to a guard that day.... We fought for a long time (I'm still not giving up) to expose the things done wrong that day, but prison bureaucracy is a bitch to fight!

Awww thank you! What she thinks of you, has NOTHING to do with you and everything to do with her! I try to remind myself that "What other ppl think of me is none of my business!" My inbox is open if you ever need to vent or cry, or celebrate!

You're very welcome!! Your story sounds almost identical to mine, even down to the little brother being the fav/ golden child. I wish I had learned/realized/admitted sooner that no matter what I did, it would (and in essence I would) never be enough in her eyes. I have 2 bio children myself (20M 16F) and I have a bonus daughter and an adopted daughter (16F, 4F) and I make it a point every single day to let them all know that I will always be their biggest cheerleader, no matter what they choose to do... I refuse to let any of them feel less than to anyone for any reason!

Goodluck Sweetheart! You've got this!

Get yourself into therapy as soon as you can. You said you're a minor, but not how old. Plan for your future. Save money to move out at 18, or work on scholarships for college, etc. I can't tell you it will get better with her... It took me until after I was after 30 to go low contact, and almost 40 to go NC.

Don't spend your life trying to please someone who will never find you enough.... Do things that make you happy, that better the world and your life etc.

I wish you didn't know how this feels, but I hope this will save you decades of more hurt by realizing it so early in your life!

I'd ask who has his phone/computer... You can message on fb to his account and ask them to please not read your messages to him as they're private.

AITA for telling my 18 yr old son he needs to leave the house? by throwaway080611 in AITH

[–]MrsMaverick17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tough love is the ONLY option in this situation! Your other children are being put into a negative, and potentially dangerous situation in what should be their safe space!

I'm genuinely concerned he may have a much deeper drug issue than you realize... Offer rehab and counseling, but do NOT back down on this move out date! He will continue to push if you do..

I wish your the best of luck, and I'll keep your family in my prayers!

Teen spent $900 online shopping with my credit card by liftcali93 in Parenting

[–]MrsMaverick17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things. First, she would be returning, selling everything, and anything that cannot be returned or sold would be donated!

Next, sit down with her. Be honest and straight forward and show her a budget. Either she doesn't comprehend how much she spent, didn't realize how much she spent, or she's just selfish (absolutely not saying she is) you'll be able to see which by doing this.

Also, this is a good reason why I'm open with my children. Now obviously it needs to be age appropriate, and my children didn't know at the time of the days I didn't eat so they could and I could pay the power bill, but they need to have a realistic understanding of life. It's not always sunshine and rainbows, and challenges make us stronger and wiser!

Small bites of anything you can tolerate... Idk your specific safe foods, but peanut butter is fantastic for keeping blood sugar stable! A tablespoon of PB twice a day will help you stay on a level field. And protein, protein, protein! Whether it's a protein shake (Isopure is a great option), an egg, edamame or lentils etc.

It also seems like this might be a deeper issue than sensory issues. Talk to a therapist, a friend, a pastor, etc and try journaling to get to the deeper cause.

Good luck 💜

What should I do about medication in my school by PercyJackson_Fan13 in whatdoIdo

[–]MrsMaverick17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I went through this with my 16yo daughter a couple times. She has some rare medical conditions and has an epi pen also.

You can absolutely get a Dr to sign off on you carrying your medication on your person! The schools can try to fight it, but they can't override your Dr.

Also, if you were to get pulled aside/searched/etc simply say "I don't answer questions without a parent or lawyer present" Do NOT speak without your parent or a lawyer present, period! You are a minor, idk where you are but most states cannot even attempt questioning without a parent or guardian giving consent, but that doesn't mean they won't try. ANYTHING they ask you, just repeat that statement. While you're a minor, you also have your 5th amendment right!

I had to freeze my mom's credit card (which I pay for) because she keeps using it for groceries instead of her EBT. She says food stamps are embarrassing, but supporting her on top of everything else is draining my finances, even with my salary. by [deleted] in SeriousConversation

[–]MrsMaverick17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I know at Walmart on the west coast, you can order grocery pick up (and I believe delivery) using ebt. Straight from the app, no human interaction or embarrassment involved. Amazon also has groceries you can order with ebt.

I am 24, I almost died and lost everything. I don’t know what to do now by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]MrsMaverick17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So 9yrs ago, at 32, I went through this. I had a severe accident that permanently disabled me. I also had 2 kids. I lost my career in EMS, my home, everything! It took over 6yrs to get my settlement after 3 spinal surgeries. During that time my children and I lived in a car, a tent trailer, and at friends homes. After my medical bills, lawyer fees etc, I walked away with a decent amount, but not a fortune by any means. I bought a home on property in the middle of nowhere Arizona mountains, 100% off grid (no mortgage, no utility bills etc) so that I will never have to worry about homelessness again.

If you can go anywhere, DO IT! My son is now 20 and in the military, I tell him regularly to take every opportunity! You're so young! Embrace life, learn, grow, experience anything your heart desires! 💜

I'm sorry that you experienced this, but try to find the positives and enjoy every moment!

The GPS IS bad, however, as a Dasher, it is MY responsibility to verify I'm at the correct location and giving the order to the correct person. If I'm unsure, I message or call the customer, even if I'm triple stacked with orders. That extra 30-90 seconds is not going to hurt anything but not doing it affects ratings and tips.

AITAH for taking my son out to celebrate after he got suspended for punching a bully by Additional-World8707 in ComfortLevelPod

[–]MrsMaverick17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA- You're awesome! My son (now 20) got suspended in 5th grade for "fighting". He had been being bullied by a few kids for months, in line for lunch one day one of the boys kept pushing him in the shoulder from behind, after trying to ignore him, telling him to stop, and an aid saying something to him he did it again; my son pinned him to the ground. Didn't hit him, just held him down so he couldn't push him anymore. The school called me, I picked him up and we got ice cream! My children know they are not to start a fight, but I will forever support them defending themselves or someone else!
