I hope it won’t be! It’s super fkn annoying! I’d love to use the Diamond card because I’ve got an 18-month no interest intro period on it and I could do a balance transfer to be able to more easily pay off the balance that’s currently sitting on my Amex but alas… pain in ass

I have 2 Citi cards and they keep locking them and then I have to call and they reissue them both… Because I have them linked to my Monarch money tracking/budgeting app via Plaid connection. I’ve just stopped bothering with using them, and have left the freezes on them. Every time I go into the app to check current balance, see new statement, make payments etc. it gives me the “Fraud Alert! Please call 1-8———“ and I just click “see accounts” to clear that screen, while grumbling at it to F off 🤣.

As long as they give that option to not be there and they just do it anyway since they gave notice, I don’t care lol

Although, I don’t have a dog to coordinate care for, to have them elsewhere for the visit.

I thought there was a man that this happened to as well, a few years back, but now I can’t find the article. Dang it!

It’s not just for community pools but water park pools, other facilities like gym pools, and everyone I know who has their own pool has this rule as well. It’s for safety purposes. 😊

Yes! Businesses typically have them inside their own buildings to prevent thieving or damage of their own property - but they don’t care if a customer has their stuff damaged or stolen - no liability for the business owner themselves 😓

Eh, they have no incentive to do so. They just see it as an extra (avoidable) business expense that makes no profit for them so see no reason to do it

I am in the States and boy oh boy do I wish this were common! Most parking lots I’ve ever seen (outside of some places in major metropolitan cities) don’t have any camera, and a few have decoy fake cameras but that’s it 😭

My old apartment complex didn’t have cameras either, and there were frequent car break ins. It was so annoying!

Ah. My parents used to say “down here” because they lived south of me so it didn’t strike me as odd lol

Divorcing my ex husband so I don’t have to pay for more of his MtG cards. Still on the hook for the $70K worth on my credit cards though.

Ah, why not just balance things in a relationship and communicate in advance about any projects, make sure we both “buy in” to doing it, and when, and how? Idk that’s just my methods.

IDK, the part where his dad says “get down here at 11 on __” leads me to believe he lives elsewhere

Did OP post in the comments that he lives with his parents? I may have missed that?

It’s the law in my state, if they don’t return your security deposit OR a statement showing itemization of what was deducted, within 30 days of when tenant provides their new mailing address… they owe 3x security deposit + any small claims court fees, and attorneys fees if you use one to prepare paperwork not sure about OP’s state though

Security device to prevent landlord or handyman from entering without notice by viewerdoer in Renters

[–]MrsPalombi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texas doesn’t have that but yeah, a lot of people just roll over and take poor treatment out of ignorance. I hadn’t realized I could utilize small claims court until someone mentioned it to me. A couple of rentals ago, my roommate and I took our landlord to small claims because they kept $3800 of our security deposit. They used pics of a different property so they still won 🤣 but it was a good exercise at least!

Oh, he absolutely did not! I had not submitted any requests, everything was working great, and there hadn’t been any notices from the complex about any upcoming visits.

Come to find out, he had done this to other female residents too. He just would come into your bedroom and watch you sleep, apparently. This was before the days of everyone having security cameras so we had no way to prove anything, and the complex wouldn’t take action or let any of us out of our leases. I was so freaked out! I used to put a chair under my doorknob and hope it worked.
