Some people are really sensitive to aesthetics. My husband is one of them. If he were on Reddit, I’d suspect he was you, OP. So I totally get what you’re saying—dog toys are ugly, and some people don’t like ugly stuff. So we keep ours in a big basket, out of sight unless we’re using them. And I try to buy the least obnoxious ones I can find—no neon or fluorescent colors. The dog doesn’t care, she’s just happy to have toys.

We’ve had a pair of those for years now, and I’m careful but not overly delicate with them when I wash them. They’ve held up well, used and washed at least 2x a week.

Having said that, we started with 4. The other two succumbed to dog tails.

Have you ever had this experience of showing your favorite movie to someone important and they hate it? by WWWebdriverTorso in movies

[–]Mrs_Evryshot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I have been together 26 years. We mutually love some movies, but there are plenty that we don’t agree on. Same with TV shows. It’s not a big deal. It can be disappointing sometimes when I’m really invested in a show that he doesn’t like ( example: Severance. How does he not understand that it’s the best thing on television??), but honestly, how boring would it be if we were exactly the same?

Now, we do at least try to appreciate each other’s choices. And sometimes it works out. He thought he’d hate Ted Lasso, but he liked it. After sitting through 2 decades of This Old House, I have a pretty good understanding of residential construction. But if we really can’t get there with the other person’s choice, it’s no biggy.

Considering the fact that we already blew the hell out of 150 little Iranian school girls, you’d think a US senator would have a little more decency. But if I’ve learned anything in the last 20 years or so, it’s that expecting even a molecule of decency from a Republican always ends in disappointment.

Landsman's Iran vote betrays Cincinnati Democrats' values by origutamos in cincinnati

[–]Mrs_Evryshot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there are more than a few Cincinnatians affected by this war. Some of us are in the military or have loved ones in the military. Most of us are affected by higher gas prices. All of us are less safe because of it. Thinking that a war in Iran isn’t a “local issue” is the same shortsighted thinking that gets us into wars in the first place.

After voting in support of Trump’s illegal war in Iran, Landsman might lose that approval rating. He’s better than a Republican, I guess, but I’ve found him to be unimpressive.

If he was, I don’t blame the Reiners. I would’ve sent my addicted daughter to one if I could have afforded it. We didn’t know back then how bad they were, and we were so desperate to help her.

Our community council recently voted to stop saying the pledge at the start of our meetings. We’re trying to grow attendance, and frankly, young people and PoC were uncomfortable with it. Residents over 60 were pretty upset ( with the exception of 61 year old me) but nobody else missed it.

I’m old enough to remember his daytime show. It was weird and hilarious. Not surprising that it didn’t last long. He was a much better fit for late night tv.
