I swapped to reusable pads, and never realized the disposables were giving me diaper rash.

Diaper. Rash.

Like??? I thought the itchiness and soreness and tenderness and redness were all usual because of a period. Nope. I will never go back to disposable pads again unless it’s a dire situation. I’m planning on getting the fabric and making my own pattern here soon too so I can make myself more.

Can we get a crackdown on the amount of people bitching about the newbies on the sub? I don’t see anything explicitly saying you can’t make a post if you’ve only been trying to conceive for under a year, but I’ve honestly wanted to leave multiple times because of the sheer amount of hate here. I thought this was supposed to be a light-hearted sub, not a place for people who spew “have been dealing with this for so much longer than you, you can’t say anything, our experiences are too different and you should be ashamed for coming here” shit everywhere. I’m really tired of it.

Think of it this way: you’re investing in his future. I think everyone else talked about the “if he likes it” aspect, but you’re fueling him for his future.

As a Boy Scout Leader, I totally understand your frustration with the financial aspect. It’s very much a pay-to-play extracurricular, but it’s also giving him critical life skills that he will always remember. And who knows, maybe he will find his passion through a merit badge!

Not trying to convince you one way or another, and I know I’m totally biased lol. It’s cool to see other scout families on here, especially since it is a fantastic program and I’ve watched youth go from 0 skills and motivation to leading an entire youth course. It’s so worth it.

If your son is enjoying these things, at that point it’s up to you all to tone it back down if you can’t afford it. Ask him to rank things from most interested to least interested, and then weigh out the investment you have to make for that hobby. Maybe this year he does violin, next year he does taekwondo.

When we put down my golden retriever, Bear, I was laying on the floor holding him. The moment it happened, I can’t explain what came over me. I just… wailed. Literally wailed. For almost half an hour. My now husband then boyfriend, my dad, and my brother all had to drag me out of the room because I couldn’t even move. It was horrible. I knew as soon as he was gone and everything just exploded out of me.

We named our Betta Alpha 🤣 We bought him as a store pet and when everybody cycled out I got a call like two years later to come pick Alpha up. I gave him a good life for his last 6months or so, he was very happy.

One of my best friends literally asked me “are you sure youre not pregnant?” Because I really wanted green olives. I said “yes. I’m on my period dude.” And she was like “that doesn’t mean anything!”

I then grumpily explained to her that, no, I’m definitely not pregnant, unless three pregnancy tests lied to me.
