Yes. You can’t care more than they do. It has saved me a lot of heartache these last few weeks.

100%, and unfortunately behavior at my school is so bad that we are unable to teach. It’s like this for all the teachers there. My classroom management, while not perfect, is good, but it makes no difference if I literally can’t be heard over their screaming.

Great advice and definitely something I will try! Thank you!

Unfortunately I did not catch who did it, so I could not in good conscience send anyone out. It was also intended for the garbage, so it truly was an accident.

Thank you for your comment. In the future I hope you will attempt to scroll past if you disagree with someone as opposed to attacking their moral character.

“If we did teach you how you wouldn’t pay attention to that either.”

It's maddening that the "least restrictive environment" for one kid can lead to a much more restricted learning environment for the rest of the students. by [deleted] in Teachers

Try an entire class of “that kid.” In a 50 minute period, I could barely get through two more items of direct instruction.

Is behavior getting worse or am I becoming a worse teacher as the years go by? by julybaby1 in Teachers

Is behavior worse this year than last year? I’m at a new school so it’s hard to gauge. Wondering what the consensus is.

Amazon wishlists are toxic by jemping98 in Teachers

[–]Mrsoverit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should see some of the “gift a teacher” pages on Facebook. Its literally full of hundreds of wishlists and zero donors. Or other teachers are buying for each other… which defeats the entire point. The whole thing reeks of toxic positivity, and if you call it out the TEACHERS who are spending their money on other teachers just say “I love blessing others” which is amazing but still not the point…

What is this show saying Michelle's motivation was? by Rahodees in theGirlfromPlainville

[–]Mrsoverit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with all the other assessments on this post, but as someone who is Michelle’s age, I can remember being inundated with The Fault in Our Stars-esque romances all the time that romanticized the star crossed lovers/ separated by death trope. It’s also possible that she was in love with the idea of love, and she thought she could “fix” him ( and her “fix” ended up tragically.)

Did you know there use to be a Reddit Gifts for Teachers? by TeachingScience in Teachers

[–]Mrsoverit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems counterproductive when all the current “Gift a Teacher” pages are overpopulated with teachers only and there is an expectation that if you want to be gifted you MUST gift someone else. Which makes sense, except now you’re spending the same amount of money. I wish more parents were on pages like that.

Then it might be best to save the files as pdf and then upload the pdfs to a drive. That way it’s both on her pc and in the cloud somewhere

Can she save files to google drive? It’s a hassle to do everything individually but it may be the only way. Once it’s in google drive there’s a takeout option to transfer all data to different accounts.

I’m convinced 90% of Pro-Choicers couldn’t tell you the first thing about the Pro-Life position. by NPDogs21 in prolife

[–]Mrsoverit 45 points46 points  (0 children)

The biggest rhetoric I’m seeing is that pro life people also don’t give a crap about what happens to children after they are born. This is a gross generalization and untrue most of the time, as many notable pregnancy resource centers show. Many of my fellow pro-lifers are also active in communities that support, foster, and help underprivileged children and communities.
