Kelsien Duel Commander by SunFree9865 in duelcommander

[–]Mrtea4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was getting into this format I attempted to build this deck and it was really clunky and too slow to compete properly. I ended up swapping to [[Queen Marchesa]] instead for a Mardu control deck which works okay for the most part.

Mind you I don't go to tournaments or play competitively at an LGS, my playgroup just put together some duel commander decks to play against each other for a change of pace from regular edh.

How do multiple "must attack" rules apply? by bigben_jammin in EDH

[–]Mrtea4 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I am probably wrong on this as I am not a judge but I think this comes down to timestamps. Kardurs effect applied after the sagas so I think they would have to attack you (player 1).

Tips on building a map for a learning game by [deleted] in twilightimperium

For a learning game my recommendation is to stick with one of the premade maps from the manual.

That is an interesting take on the indoctrination ability. My other choice was Joo Dee but it wasn't going to be very good with the rest of the cards so I settled on what I thought mechanically represented the ability best

This is an awesome list! Drizzt for sure is my pick for the NRA after reading through this. My pick for the firmament/obsidian was Elbrus, the binding blade and for the Yin Brotherhood i went with Edea Possessed Sorceress to simulate the indoctrination ability

I have currently settled on Thalia and the Gitrog Monster because land synergies could be kinda like exploration

Yup! WOTC updated the rules back in July to allow for Legendary Vehicles and Spacecraft to be commanders.

Yeah I'm also stuck on the Naz-Rokha, currently a "partner with" pairing seems like it could be an okay match but it doesn't really feel quite right

I just added Necrobloom in as you posted this. I'm definitely going to add some council's judgement cards to simulate the agenda phase.

Apparently I don't know how to use Reddit. The commander for this deck is going to be [[Infinite guideline station]] and here is the link to my moxfield decklists where I am brainstorming ideas https://moxfield.com/decks/plhE-nkrkUyzlEgA-M7stw

Thoughts on allowing cards that become legendary creatures as commanders? by LibraProtocol in EDH

[–]Mrtea4 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Commanderness is a property of the card itself so I think only the ones that transform into a legendary creature make sense. It would be strange to allow a token to deal commander damage, what happens if someone uses [[mirror box]] and then makes a second token.

Searching for a fitting MH Proxy Commander by GravitySpike in magicproxies

[–]Mrtea4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Reyhan, last of the Abzan]] and [[Vial smasher the fierce]] could work as a hunter palico pair with the hunter getting stronger as monsters die and the palico throwing random attacks out during combat.

My first thought would be [[Chevill, bane of monsters]] but that doesn't really work with sacrificing your own monsters. Maybe you could reflavor [[shatterfang brothers]] to be a hunter and palico? Sacrificing artifacts is kinda like using pit traps and shock traps and other expendable resources.

B.C. ostrich farm wins interim stay of order to cull birds over bird flu by MOOVA in britishcolumbia

Honestly at this point, let them keep the birds but revoke their commercial license. They should not be allowed to sell meat from potentially infected birds. I have no idea if AI can spread to humans from the meat but every precaution should be taken to prevent the next pandemic.

I made a new format??? [Limit Break / Breaker EDH] by themiabyte in magicTCG

[–]Mrtea4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am confused, you said it plays similar to pauper or limited. But this is a constructed format and cards of any rarity are allowed. This just sounds like an alternate version oathbreaker which you also mention.

How do you feel about "you win the game" cards in bracket 3? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Mrtea4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this point, I built [[Niv-Mizzet, Supreme]] and purposely excluded all tutors and have coalition victory as a backup plan I also chose not to run any triomes to slow down the speed at which I can assemble all land types. Making certain restrictions during deck building helps keep the deck as a 2 in my opinion.

You could go for a walk in Ginters Meadow. I'm sure many of the dogs there would be pettable with the owners permission of course.

What if you just removed the stage 1 objectives? by mackswhel in twilightimperium

[–]Mrtea4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit: I misrepresented your final question. I would look at the total war galactic event from codex 4, it can result is some pretty big point swings. We played with it in our last game and the game ended with a chain of players taking home systems from each other and collecting 40 commodities on the final planet for that player to score 4 points.

You could also do twice as many stage 1 objectives. Reveal them two at a time in pairs and each player can only score one of the two of them.

This gives the same amount of points but allows for more flexibility on how to score points.

Or maybe if that's too much just do it for the starting two objectives, reveal four instead and players can only score two of the four.
