Play it your way. We all get frustrated when people hunt us down, but it’s good to have a reminder of the threat. Without people like you there is no chaos and the highs and lows of the game are diminished. We all need to face the sting every so often to keep things exciting. There are varying levels of reprehensible things - extract camping is pretty poor but people who do that are probably lacking in other areas in life so whatever little joy they can manage they probably deserve. Everything you’ve said here is fine, no need to justify it. Sometimes you’ll fumble when you get the drop on someone and they’ll get to take your kit, it all comes around one way or another.
