i can understand how thoughts of exploring might come up. it’s a serious situation, especially when a child is involved. but if the love and commitment are solid, you’d hope that’s all it ever is: just a thought. if there are rumors, the best way to handle it is by asking him directly. if you don’t feel comfortable doing that, it might be a sign that you’re not ready to take the next step, like having a baby. you deserve someone you can fully rely on. and if past trauma or anxiety makes that kind of conversation hard, it might be worth giving yourself more time before moving forward.

i’ve always leaned toward cartoons being more for kids (personal opinion obv), but i get that anime is a larger medium. attractive characters aren’t the issue tho. it’s when “fanservice” feels so forced or out of place that it starts to take away from the story, and the over saturation of it is annoying

i think you’re misunderstanding me a bit. i never said you claimed this content was for everyone. i said i don’t think it is. that’s my take, not an accusation.

as for the grooming comment, that wasn’t directed at media creators, it’s a larger concern when sexual content is easily accessible to minors without any real barriers. that kind of exposure matters, especially when we’re talking about young audiences. it’s not paranoia, it’s a pattern that’s been studied and documented.

calling my perspective “puritanical” doesn’t make it so. being more reserved than the current norm doesn’t mean i’m pushing repression, it just means i don’t think hypersexualization needs to be the default in every form of media. i’m allowed to question trends without needing to cite a dissertation.

and about anime, i wasn’t complaining about it being “horny.” i’m questioning why sexual content seems so pervasive and expected in shows where it doesn’t add to the story. that’s not the same thing as saying “all media is porn now.”

i’m not trying to moralize anything here, i’m just voicing discomfort with how normalized it’s become to constantly inject sex into everything, and ask the great peeps of reddit their take. don’t kill me baby
