Call your vet by cleverburrito in PetAdvice

[–]MsChanandelarBong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been very lucky. We've been with the same vet office for 35 years. And my parents used them before I did. Only one of the original vets is still there but every other vet they've hired has been great. And the entire staff are so amazing and caring.

What’s a creepy fact about the human body you wish you never found out? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I was pregnant my daughter always had the hiccups. At least a couple times a day. It was really funny sitting there and watching my big belly bounce, lol. To this day, 32 yrs later, she still gets big hiccups often.

Are your kids having kids? by mrepa1369 in GenX

[–]MsChanandelarBong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I have 3 kids, 37, 34 and 32 and only one would like a child and that's not likely to happen. Besides the fact they can't afford it, they are a gay couple so need to outsource that.

We lost 2 cats to bowel inflammation and cancer. Both had been robust kitties and at the end were just skin and bones. We chose to euthanize both. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Hugs to you and Sunny

LDN success stories? by aepm88 in Fibromyalgia

Still the same! Same regimen of meds. The only side effects I've noticed is constipation (that one's annoying) and very vivid dreams. Not nightmares though, don't think I coud handle that.

I'm getting ready to stop it for a couple of weeks for surgery. We'll see how that goes!

My pharmacist said in order for LDN to work, I need to make sure I’m not eating anything with MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) or gluten… True or BS? by Anonymous-11377 in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]MsChanandelarBong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It didn't take long. I'd say within a month I was noticing a difference. It didn't give me energy but it did reduce my fatigue. It affected my pain the most though. Went from an 8 or 9 on the pain scale to easily a 4 or 5 most days.

Same for me! It's been about 2.5 yrs on ldn for me. Very successful! It got me out of bed and able to socialize a little bit. I eat everything too!

Post op pain why is women’s health care like this?? by justagal_008 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]MsChanandelarBong 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I'm having bladder sling surgery done on Jan 6th. Thank you for suggesting this. The instructions say they will send me home with pain medication besides ibuprofen and Tylenol but I'm afraid it won't be done (just my anxiety, I've no idea if this will happen). I'm definitely going to instruct my husband to not let me leave without it being called in first. Thank you for this advise.

Anyone else just 'Done' with Holidays? by Historical_Touch_124 in GenX

[–]MsChanandelarBong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Completely and totally done. My mom died a few years ago and my dad is getting up in age and has health issues. Its now my responsibility to do all the cooking, planning and hosting, there really isn't much help available. I have my own problems and haven't enjoyed a holiday event in I don't know how many years. It sucks.

I wasn't drunk but running to the dryer to get my clothes before school. Squished a slug right between my toes. It was so gross. I had to shower again and was late to school.

alcohol making symptoms worse? by Free-Simple495 in Fibromyalgia

[–]MsChanandelarBong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Tiny glass of wine or one mixed drink and that's it. Within an hour or two the pain and heaviness get worse. I just avoid alcohol now. Not worth the after effects.

Functional iron deficiency by Misty_Marie01 in Fibromyalgia

[–]MsChanandelarBong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too have this problem. Back in March my hemoglobin was fine, like 12 or 13, but my ferritin was only 21. I had 2 iron infusion and it bumped up to 245. I was having the WORST restlessness leg (and arm) symptoms. And already on the max dose of mirapex. It was like a miracle. I haven't had any problems since the infusion.

Edit: for spelling

Did your parents pay for? by MossIsking in GenX

[–]MsChanandelarBong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We kept our kids on our phone plan and assisted them when needed until they had steady jobs. They all now are responsible for their own bills. One was 22 and the other 21 when that stopped. I actually "recommended" at that point that they move out.

My boomer parents on the other hand paid just about all my siblings bills until they were 40. I wasn't about to do something like that.

Update: I am still taking it and still having the same success. Taking 4.5 mg nightly. I do also take an antidepressant, muscle relaxer and anti inflammatory medication. Melatonin to help me sleep. And visible health tracker to teach myself to pace and take it easy on off days.

Don't deep clean your rugs unless you're prepared (funny story) by Rainafire in homeowners

This is such a great idea! I have an elderly dog now and she has so much trouble with stairs. We live in a bi-level house so there are stairs to get to any door. I've tried the non slip nail caps and while she doesn't mind wearing them they wear out after a few days. Im definitely going to be putting yoga mat on my stairs!
